This is very mature background music.
Also you know how every reviewer has their FAVORITE TRACKS and LEAST FAVORITE TRACKS? Yea, this is a very solid record to a fault.
So solid in fact that "The Holding Hand" and maaayyybe "Shelter Song" are the only songs that don't feel same-y.
Shout out Elias tho. The man can belt a performance.
This is a really solid alt rock album from one of Dirty Hit's big name indie brand rock bands. The entire aesthetic of this album is neon af, while also being gritty like an undergound movie. While this album I think is loose and not at all like a concept album the album's Spotify storylines portray it to be, there's really not much to go wrong with here.
I do kinda agree w Anthony Cantstando that this album is a pastiche to alt rock, but it's not 90s ya know? And pastiche does this album ... read more
The fact that I had fun goofing off with Cavancade should be enough to highlight that this is certified background music PLUS.
ah huck heuh uh huh huh yes uh wew uh huh uh huh a HYUCK

Right around this moment, this album would chart but NOOOOOO. Rob HAD to make it 50.
All jokes aside, this is actually a good debut from AOTY's most infamous alkaline metal. The songs seamlessly blend together (and the faintly glitched transition from Death Mask into SELF IMMOLATION is yea), and are tightly produced. Honestly one of the best projects to come from the AOTY scene in quite a long time.
I hope this gets more recognition both here and in other places.
EDIT: fuck u laserheart for ... read more
This album feels like loneliness and despair
And the one week break I took from reviewing
Neupink IS a talented artist. He's been producing music since 2018 as Skullz (which, if the RYM birth date is correct and it should be... since he was 17), and became Neupink in 2020 with the debut "Flourescent Art". Having been signed to Luhas' netlabel Eva Hakai, which was then co-signed or merged or whatever with No Agreements, I'm glad he has gotten the popularity he deserves.
I think this is a slightly overrated (possibly overhyped?) project. In terms of consistency, Neupink bar ... read more
This review undermines the emotional potency of this record. But this is practically the better OK Go "Hungry Ghosts" LP.
First time listening to cybergrind and I am happy with this discovery
EDIT: They also kill live

I'm happy to say I liked this farewell project. I don't want to be the reviewer that goes into detail of what everything is, what the drawbacks are... it isn't worth the effort (and I have a love-hate relationship towards formal reviews). What I CAN tell you is how I feel about this record, so I'm going to review this record in a way that shows how I feel:
For a project that is very mellow and atmospheric, making me feel like I'm in a McDonald's playing on the PS2 again, this is also a very ... read more
I remember when I found this in my recommended, at like something hundred thousand K views. Never knew they would rise to the popularity they have rn.
Crazy how lightning strikes the bottle.
It's a good song.
I don't see any benefit to say anything positive because I don't like the song, I already find it hard to seek out pros, I'm naturally inclined to be blunt regardless of feelings, and I'm willing to admit I'm negatively biased towards AOTY and AOTY musicians (having denounced my own status as one). BUT I'm going to do it ANYWAY bc I sincerely want to treat Matt respectfully, and this is his first song. It's only fair, sincere and respectful to give support, and I want to practice being less ... read more

I love this song.
Thanks to Knifepunch Records on Twitter for tweeting about this, this was an awesome find
Ayyy this is actually p cool.
Addie has been teasing new material for a little while, so I'm happy to see that this is the result of that grind. Haven't listened to the Meadows track yet, but I think it will be solid.
Can't wait for new WOHO material.
Holy fuck I can't stop beaming at this album.
I admire the musicianship and the experimental ethos of just fucking up everything from the original debut, creating a new monstrosity that veers between experimental and indie folk. It's all so atmospheric and lively and omg, I just couldn't stop smiling.
Now that the smiling has subsided, I enjoy this record a lot. More than some people prob will.
How can you not be romantic about music?
