I think I relate to this album quite a lot, like even now as an adult I still feel like some parts of this album apply to me.
So I listened to this album and here are my thoughts.
I think Onanon is better than this album for the sole purpose of execution, but I'm gonna give it credit here because its not just one guitar chord! It's a p diverse indie folk and folktronica record that sees Concrete Castles step outside the realm of electronic music he is known for.
The two features add quite a lot to the personality of this record. I think for the aesthetic choices, it could've been possible to improve on the ... read more
Take nerko's review of this album, make it generally positive yet keep the boredom cons, and that's my opinion of this album.
Also I almost threw away a fork, thanks Brockhampton.
I am in an absolutely shitty mood, and this album didn't help one bit.
There are some awesome songs here that maybe I would come back to, but part of the aesthetic and the absolutely thin and neutral PRODUCTION makes me want to rip my fucking hair out. This sounds slightly dated.
And most of the songs are great on paper, but they're so thin. And they're just so same-y, not that there's anything wrong. But I just don't care.
Jimmy does have a good voice, I'll give him that.
But I would never ... read more

There's not a lot to say except besides the slow and sluggish parts and some silence, I enjoyed this DJ mix (technically compilation) more than I thought I would. Gherkin has a unique voice, mixing comedy with seriousness, flipping beats whenever and all of this fits with the context that they provided in the AOTY Studios Discord.
I'm actually proud of them, and I hope this somewhat blows up. It deserves more listeners.
So I checked this out due to a retweet from Doni on Twitter, since he has very interesting recommendations and holy shit. Holy shit, this is easily runner up and maybe this is an AOTY contender?
The very atmosphere that oozes throughout this album is one of adept skill and sloppy yet lifelike and warm. The mixing is HEAVENLY. Eryl's flow and delivery is lethargic, yet captivates my attention. I don't even know more than half of what he spits on the mic, his intonations and half-awake ... read more
Alright, so I finally got around to this and... welp, in light of the recent announcement of Orgy Tape (which really sounds tasteless), I decided hey why not check out new Gel stuff? I liked the last (and first) single they put out.
And well, I'm not really disappointed. I thought it was cool for what it was. Certainly is not "nothing the song 2: skidaddle skidoodle". For an EP that's self-proclaimed as electro-rock (I'm not having high hopes), I'm a little underwhelmed and this just ... read more
I've had a bit to think about this album. I used to think it was strictly a concept album, now I think it has that mentality but doesn't adhere to the rules.
Dara Kiely is always enigmatic and cryptic about the subject matter at hand. In the case of "The Talkies", we get a more experimental affair then their debut. Songs like "Going Norway" encapsulate a deranged man arguing with himself or a therapist. Songs like "Shoulderblades" prophesizing a duality between a ... read more
Party Favors is a cute and short project with a very consistent aesthetic, tho I did not like some of the better known songs on here.
Kaylon out.
...oh yeah!! I forgot. Got this recommended to me by PrimeBot when I asked for smth like EADGBE by RockGati. Which you should listen to.
Kaylon over and out.

This is what happens when you join the military. You make a horrorcore song about the military. Seems legit.
