Lil Ugly Mane - Oblivion Access

This is what dying while alive sounds like.

PSY - PSY from the PSYcho World!
NR

I...just loved this Psy album...

Oh, you don't know Psy? let me refresh your memory. He's from South Korea, he recorded this album in the late 90's. It's got autotuned hooks and fucking trap drums. It's one of the most dynamic hip-hop albums I've ever heard. Oozing creativity out of these beats. The language barrier is not existent. The performances are always top tier. Even the fucking album cover is a banger. There's not a single song I didn't enjoy.

I played this at my nephews birthday party and got ostracized from my family

Guess they just don't know what real music is 👊🤪✋

Swans - To Be Kind

FALLING ASLEEP TO THIS WAS HEAVENLY

Swans - The Glowing Man
NR

A meditative glimpse into the mind of Gira.

Kanye West - Yeezus
NR

Dear my holy lord and savior, Yeezus Christ..

This project on its own is great. But knowing about Death Grips a year before this, and knowing MBDTF was the album before this, there's a lot left to be desired. There's still amazing songs, but not the consistency, where the energy just never stops. There's some biiiiig duds on this. Blood on the Leaves is just unlistenable. Honestly I've held that one in a while. It's just such a slog to get through, I almost never can finish it. On the brighter ... read more

This is gonna have to be they last time they make an album in this style.

This is a good album. Good production, cool sounds, nice vocals, just good, good stuff. But is any of it that new? Not really. It's just kinda what they've been doing, or other people are doing. It's not as unique as when they first started. Fortunately for them however, I think this is just about interesting and engaging enough to where I can say that this is still a good album. Terminus, The Creator is a track I got ... read more

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit

This is a different album in the car.

Radiohead - The Bends
NR

What a complete mess.

Radioheads sophomore album is so fucking weird, and we don't talk about it enough. You see the score, I generally think it works, and so does most of the community. But the fact that THIS is what we got is kinda weird. It starts with Plant Telex, which I LOVE. It almost sounds like a OK Computer demo or something. Probably one of my favourite radiohead album openers. The next song is pretty much just a great grunge song. Thom however, is really trying to channel his inner ... read more

Kanye West - Late Registration
NR

Mr. West woke up.

Kanye's debut felt a little bland and uninteresting, while still having enough originality to hold itself up. This feels like all of those ideas, but better. The production is just soooo godamn good. Some of these songs really surprised me. Like from Roses to We Major is basically perfect. Kanye just has a way of going about these tracks that everyone is a banger. That being said, sometimes it gets stale, like with Celebration. It's good, but feels Very familiar. Overall ... read more

Kanye West - The College Dropout
NR

Kanye makes a very enjoyable and cohesive debut album. Very iconic, and a perfect representation of the sound at the time. But that's kinda my biggest problem; It's SO in its time. Aside from that, this just isn't the type of thing I'm gonna listen to. The first 4 are easily my favourites. The rest of the album is still enjoyable, but it all falls into the background for me.

Weatherday & Asian Glow - Weatherglow
NR

How could I not love this?

Edit: (95 --> 88) This is great, but I rated it way too high at first.

This new wave of Lofi-indie-shoegaze is one of my favourite things happening in music right now. Parannoul in particular has been my personal favourite. Anyways Parannoul Asian Glow and another band made an album together, and now Asian Glow is joining Weatherday. And that is how I know about this lol. It's a really emotional mess of an album. The instrumentation reflects that too, very ... read more

Father John Misty - Chloë and the Next 20th Century

I may have problems with my own father, but this guy seems pretty cool.

Playboi Carti - Die Lit
NR

I CANNOT. fucking. believe myself.

Yes. I listened to 57 minutes, 47 seconds of Playboi Carti, and was entertained for about 55 of those minutes. let me give a little background. The first genre I gravitated to while getting into music was pop punk that slowly evolved into indie rock. So Hip-hop was never my thing until about a year and a half ago. I've had a friend tell me for 4 years that Playboi Carti was the WORST rapper of all time. I just agreed, only hearing 20 seconds of one of his ... read more

Radiohead - Kid A

Haidoread

I have this inner doubt that radiohead isn't as good as people say they are. I sometimes get annoyed that in the top 5 albums, 3 are radiohead. And despite liking a ton of their discography, I get bored by how good they are sometimes. I used to have this album as a 10, but changed it because of the reasosn I just mentioned. But no longer can I deny the fact that every single time I've ever listened to this I have been completely blown away. It's a boring, basic, mundane choice, but ... read more
