Look what we can accomplish when everyone is united. (I’m talking about the album)
One of the least aggressive swans release to date. The sounds here are absolutely gorgeous and the production quality is undeniable. Despite what people have said, I almost feel this one leans more on accessible side of their sound. It is long and extremely slow but the pay off is really really great. I’m nowhere near my final review but wanted to get these thoughts out now.
Edit:

Front loaded with really solid songs. It gets a little derivative and frankly, kind of corny
As weird as it is wonderful. Frank Zappa has always been a silly little figure in the best way imaginable. “Hot Rats” is a wildly creative jazz fusion record that never has a dull moment. It’s beautifully whimsical.
Sure it’s sort of wacky but that’s part of the charm of this album. “Willie The Pimp” is a highlight for me, it’s the only track on the album with lyrics and it features Captain Beefheart on vocals. Yes, that Captain Beefheart. And ... read more
Honestly a surprisingly great release from Foo Fighters this late in their career. It has some of the most beautiful writing I have heard maybe the whole year and a surprising amount of Shoegaze and Slowcore influence. I sort of stumbled upon randomly listening to this album over a few other ones and I’m glad I did.
This album follows up on the deaths of the longtime drummer of the band, Taylor Hawkins, as well as Dave Grohl’s mother. This gives context as to why the album has the ... read more
I cannot get enough of this album. An extremely pivotal release in my music-listening journey. I first heard “Veteran” around when his following album “All My Heroes Are Cornballs” had first come out there was something about it from the first listen and I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I knew I liked it. It's now one of my favorite albums of all time.
I could rant on and on about the PRODUCTION of this thing. It's such a unique blend of glitchy electronics, ... read more
To open up about easily one of my favorite Floyd albums, “Meddle” is their first GREAT album in my opinion, although “Atom Heart Mother” is underrated. It's a sweet, folky little album until you hit the last two songs, one of these is far superior to the other but I’ll get to that later.
The opener “One of These Days” has what sounds like to me, a classic Pink Floyd intro. It opens with a chunky and hooky baseline followed by hard-hitting drums and ... read more
One of my favorite albums of the 70s and a true comfort album for me. Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon” is an incredibly special album to me as well as many others. It’s nothing complex or boundary-pushing but the place it takes the listener through the simplicity and undeniable power is anything but boring and surface level.
Nick Drake died at the young age of 26 from an overdose of prescribed antidepressants, it remains unsolved whether or not this was an accident or suicide. ... read more
As a fairly new listener of IDM/Ambient or downtempo or whatever you wanna call it, this is one of the best examples I’ve heard so far. Each song transports you to a different world that your minds creates. It’s got such a nice sound to it. Something very nostalgic about it even tho I’ve only heard it very recently.
A pretty nice listen honestly. Nothing mind blowing but there is most definitely something here.
Not too much to say here. It’s a fun listen with some smooth and bouncy production, which was expected. It most definitely could’ve been a little bit more than what was delivered here but I wasn’t expecting the greatest thing ever by any means. The rapping is pretty consistently good from Aminé (and there’s a great verse from Freddie Gibbs) with a few standout performances as well as a few corny moments here and there. I wanted more from KAYTRANADA on production ... read more
“Animals” is absolutely mind-blowing. From the subject matter and lyrics, the production and instrumentation, catchy guitar work, nearly everything about it. I’ve really got nothing bad to say about this album. It is a masterclass on longevity. It’s in a total vacuum when it comes to the certain emotion it brings me and it stands on its own there. Even though it only has five songs there is plenty of material to enjoy and listen to. Above all, “Animals” is an ... read more
This album said more in a fake language on that one song than I ever have in a real one.
I’ve had an interesting relationship with this album since its release. I was in my prime Kendrick phase and my expectations were through the roof, though I tried to manage them. The last album “DAMN.” was the catalyst in a lot of ways for my love of music in the first place so I was most definitely excited. When it failed to meet my impossibly high expectations, as it undoubtedly would, I was a little bit disappointed. Not mad but it wasn’t what I was imagining it to ... read more
I enjoyed the listen here. I believe there’s definitely some weak points throughout the track list but the highs outshine the lows by a large enough margin for me. An improvement from their last effort and the load overblown sound suits them a lot better imo.
Overall a really solid offering from Jesus Piece. Incredibly repetitive and wish there was a bit of variation but it’s a strong crop of tracks nonetheless.

Hot take. I don’t think swimming is all that interesting of a listen at all. The instrumentals are boring and unimaginative. Mac is in this laid back flow that I like but it gets a little old when it’s across the whole record. I like macs singing stuff quite a lot and I appreciate when it shows itself here. Im just not that big on this album as a package and believe he has better
