Voice Memos is better than I expected, but that doesn’t make it all that good. The production is pretty generic, although once in a while a beat will really stand out. The multiple beat switches also get old after a few times. Quadeca as a rapper can be ok, but most of the time he comes off a little too cringey, although he can flow pretty well. I think Quadeca really stands out on the more emotional and slower instrumentals than the basic trap beats. I think among YouTube rappers he is ... read more
A very impressive debut album from another new exciting British rapper. The album can be ridiculously aggressive and catchy, but it can also be emotional and political (as the title suggests). It’s not perfect by any means, and the production can sometimes be underwhelming, but this album has me very excited to see what he does next.

Baby Keem has sooooo much potential. His production choice, personality, voice, and versatility make him a compelling artist with a lot of potential. But unfortunately, this album doesn’t fully capitalize on this obvious potential. While this album may be immensely fun, it is very inconsistent and can be too repetitive.

I was scared when Circles was announced. Posthumous albums have not been very good lately, and I was scared that his family would use this opportunity to make some money while not caring about his legacy. But that all went away when I heard Good News, a near perfect song.
It’s hard to put my thoughts on this album into words. Listening for this first time was an extremely emotional experience, and I honestly wasn’t even a big Mac Miller fan when he was alive. I enjoyed the music ... read more
I never got around to listening to Swimming. I intended to listen when it came out but it was the same weekend as Astroworld and I put my focus on that album instead of Swimming. After his death, I tried but wanted to wait for the right time. I had heard maybe half of the songs from it, but never as a full album completely. I decided I was going to listen for the first time right before Circles came out. I really regret not listening sooner.
I knew I was going to enjoy the album, but not this ... read more
I first heard 070 Shake around 2016 when I discovered her song Sunday Night on an upcoming artist playlist. I was intrigued and slowly started seeing more and more of 070 Shake. The next notable time I heard her was when she was on Pusha T’s Daytona and Kanye’s Ye project. I really enjoyed her contributions and was excited to see what she would do next. And while I think this album does show glimpses of what makes her so interesting, it doesn’t fully capitalize on her ... read more
This album is just generic and boring pop. It’s not terrible, it’s just devoid of emotion or anything really interesting. I don’t even really have anything to say about it. I guess the production can be decent at times, and I wouldn’t necessarily turn the album off if it played, but it’s just not something I’m actively going out of my way to play.

The new songs are actually surprisingly good. The 75 is for the entire album plus these songs, not just these songs. The score for the album stayed the same for me though, as I would probably give just these songs a 75 as well.

I had never heard of Georgia before listening to this, but I saw this album was getting good reviews and decided to give it a show. I’m pretty glad I did.
This album is not perfect and has many flaws, but I find it to be a pretty enjoyable listen (even with the lesser songs). The second half is much weaker than the first, and some of the songs are a little bland and boring, but there is a lot I do really like about this album.
The production is the classic synth pop kind of sound, but ... read more
I actually don’t think this is all that terrible. Maybe I’m biased though, because I found his song Enemy last year before he really blew up and I’ve kinda watched his come up. From when I first heard him, I liked his voice and thought he could have some good melodies and hooks at times. I thought he had a lot of potential and I was excited to see where he would go. And while this project is disappointing, I don’t think it’s all that bad. I get the criticisms (and ... read more
I kinda like this and I wasn’t expecting to. Ive never really listened to Moneybagg Yo except for some features and the song with J. Cole, but I was interesting after seeing the features on this album. This album is actually pretty decent. The production is hard af and very catchy. Moneybagg Yo does a pretty good job flowing over these beats too. His style is not unique, and he reminds me of Future most of the time, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing (as I generally like ... read more
This album is just pretty boring and is probably the most generic and bland pop album I've heard in a while. If you didn't tell me who this was I probably couldn't guess that it was Selena Gomez. She isn't a very good singer, the songwriting is extremely basic and has no character, and after listening to this a few times I still don't feel anything (and this album tries to have emotional moments). There are some good highlights, but there are also some absolutely terrible songs on here too. If ... read more
I’ve never really gotten into UK Rap, which is probably why I held off on listening to this album for so long. That was a mistake, because this is one of the best rap albums of 2019. Not only does Little Simz come through with great flows and deliveries, but her lyrics stand out throughout the album as well. The production is also outstanding, and so are the hooks. While it’s not the most groundbreaking album , it is a great body of work that has me excited to see what she does ... read more
I’m glad you guys are really enjoying this but I’m just not seeing it. These songs sound like what they most likely are: mostly unfinished throwaway songs.
They aren’t bad, I actually enjoy most of them, I just don’t think they’re very memorable. The production is hard and distorted, but the mixing is not good. While this is an enjoyable listen if you enjoy Denzel’s harder tracks, it just isn’t blowing me away.

I was expecting to dislike this album, but I actually don’t. Don’t get me wrong; I don’t love this album, but it’s a decent listen that if you really enjoy this trap sound you might get a lot of enjoyment out of. The production is decent, and Melly’s singing and voice is pretty unique, even if it’s obviously inspired by Young Thug. There are some highlights, and some very head-scratching moments, but overall, this is a decent, but very basic, melodic trap ... read more
I just don’t care. This album is boring, generic, and uninspired. The production isn’t even that interesting. This album isn’t the worst thing, it just isn’t good at all either.

Industry Plant is not the worst thing I’ve heard all year, but it’s certainly not the best. It’s decent, and there are some highlights, but as a whole it just ends up being pretty generic. It’s ok when it’s on but it’s not something I’m going to actively play. It sort of fades into the background, which I guess isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The production is nice, the hooks are ok. Iann Dior does a pretty decent job overall. You could replace him ... read more
I really enjoy the direction this album takes. I’m not sure whether it’s my favorite album from him, but I do enjoy the neo-soul sound of Ventura a lot. It’s not a groundbreaking album, and some songs aren’t as interesting as others, but this project has enough quality songs with great production and great performances from .Paak and his features that it makes this a very smooth and enjoyable listen.

Mirrorland is an impressive, but flawed album. Both Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot deliver good performances throughout though. The production is pretty good also and the hooks are extremely catchy and memorable. I definitely get the OutKast comparison, but this album doesn’t do enough for me to completely agree. The features (aside from Thug) aren’t very interesting, and while the second half of the album has some good songs, it is noticeably less interesting than the first half. ... read more
