This album has some good production and some very good highlights, but as a whole the album ends up being forgettable. The album is messy, and the mediocre songs in the middle of the album hurt the listening experience. I also don’t see what is so special about Rich Brian as a rapper. He sounds like Matt Champion a lot of the time, his lyricism isn’t very good, and the hooks aren’t very memorable. Nevertheless, the highlights on this album are very good and so is the ... read more
I had never heard an FKA Twigs project before this. My knowledge of her music was limited to her feature on A$AP Rocky’s last album, the song Holy Terrain, and her amazing Cellophane performance on Jimmy Fallon. Going into this I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but I was hoping I would love it. And I really do.
I didn’t get it after my first listen. It wasn’t bad, and some of the melodies stood out, but it was a lot to take in. But after listening numerous times, I ... read more
Is He Real? Reminds me of the newest Goldlink album. It sounds decent at points, and nothing is terrible, but this album is just not interesting. It lacks personality, character, and a sense of direction. IDK has almost no presence as a rapper. I don’t remember any of these songs and I listened to this album numerous times. It’s not bad, it’s just painfully ok.

I put off listening to this all year. I tried getting into it a few times, but it never really interested me. This interest only weakened after Ginger, an album that I liked a lot, but featured Kevin Abstract delivering some of his least interesting and most forgettable moments. But I gave this a chance after hearing “Baby Boy”, which is one of my favorite songs of the year. I’m glad I did.
This album is not perfect. Actually, it’s incredibly flawed and at times messy. ... read more
If this project was shorter, it would probably be among my favorites of the year. When at its best, this album features great performances from Sampa the Great and impressive production. When it’s at its worst and most boring, the songs drag on and are held back by the lack of a significant direction. The end of this album is a mixed bag, but there are enough bright spots throughout to make this a worthwhile listen. (Just skip the 10 minute songs lol)

Brandon Banks is decent, but it just gets more boring as it goes on. The production is pretty good though, and it’s probably the most interesting thing about this project. Maxo Kream just doesn’t really have much of a presence. While I do appreciate the subject matter and his storytelling, the songs just aren’t interesting enough to make it worth it.

I’m so glad this wasn’t that leaked track list with like 20 songs.
JACKBOYS is a project with great production and good performances from all of Cactus Jack and the features they bring with them. Don Toliver is the absolute standout for me, although everyone else does a good job too. This project is extremely short, but that actually makes it better. It doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. Instead, it hits you with the bangers and leaves without having any time for a bad ... read more
This is truly one of the worst things from an actual label artist I’ve heard since Lil Xan’s album. What the actual fuck? I can’t believe even emo white kids like this. This is so terrible. Jumex has no talent, the production is bad, and he just either screams or horribly and drunkenly sings his way through these shitty ass songs. Fuck this album.
Fav Tracks: The Intro because it was like 20 seconds with no song

So I only listened to this so I could place it on my worst list because I knew I would hate it. So I listened to the first song and actually didn’t hate it. Then I listened to the second song, and I kinda liked it (maybe?). They weren’t amazing or anything but I thought they were ok. I then started to worry that I may end up not hating this album. And guess what? I don’t really hate it. That’s right, I’ll be the outlier.
Don’t get me wrong. I do not LIKE ... read more
He stole Dej Loaf’s entire sound. He’s not that interesting. The production can be pretty good and he can occasionally have a good hook or flow, but this album is mostly nothing. The features can be ok at time, but there truly is nothing interesting. There are a few highlights, but this album is incredibly boring and generic past those.

Rapsody is one of the most talented rappers and lyricists out currently. I knew going into this that I would likely enjoy it, but I’m glad I enjoy it this much. The concept is well executed and Rapsody manages to stick to this concept throughout. The production is great; it can be very soulful, and it also can be more hard-hitting. Rapsody utilizes the great samples and production and brings some great flows over them. Eve isn’t perfect, but it manages to execute the concept and be ... read more
This is a quality project from Future, but it 100% did not to be as long as it is. It also could have used more features or more variety. While I like most of the songs on here, they start to feel samey after a while. Nevertheless, Future comes through with an album with great, hard hitting production and sticky hooks and hard flows.

I truly wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did. I saw all the good reviews and the positive feedback, but everything I’d heard from Lana was just ok. Nothing has ever stood out to me. But on here it does. I’m not even sure what it is exactly about this album that I like so much. I do love the songwriting and how emotional it is, and the lyricism is great and so are Lana’s vocals. Overall, this is just an extremely enjoyable album that I’m shocked I like. ... read more
Edit: grown on me a lot. 90 now.
I’ve always thought Tinashe was super underrated. I always thought she had a lot of talent and potential, but that it had never been maximized. And while I don’t think this project is perfect, it definitely utilizes and showcases that talent. I love the Trap production mixed with the Pop/R&B production on this album and I think Tinashe comes through with good vocals, a lot of personality, and good flows on the rap tracks. While it might not be ... read more
Wow this sucks.
Fav Tracks: Remember (maybe?)
Least Fav Tracks: Like everything else. Seriously (Especially Both Ways & Bedroom Floor. Maybe worst two songs I’ve ever heard).
This album has no personality. Some of these songs sound like they were written for Ariana Grande. This is just basic, generic, and bland mainstream pop. Also, the DaBaby feature is so forced like are you serious?? The fake Latin touches they add are so obviously trying to be something it isn’t. Nevertheless, the production manages to be decent enough at some spots and she manages to have a few catchy hooks to make this not terrible, but not necessarily good either.

Original review (65):
Not gonna lie, this is the first Charli XCX album I've listened to in full. I've heard her big songs, and some of her singles, but nothing ever really stood out to me. But Fantano gave it #1 and I've been seeing good things, so I tried it out. And it was...interesting?
While I do enjoy a good amount of the songs on here, I just can't get into this album as a whole. I've listened ... read more
While it’s not terrible, it’s just not as unique or creative as his music with his sister. This just feels a little basic and generic. It’s not bad, and I actually like a few of these songs, but it’s just not what it could have been.

It’s been said many times but this truly sounds like Iggy Azalea doing her best impression of Cardi B on Invasion of Privacy. The production is decent at some points, and she occasionally comes through with a catchy hook or flow, but this just feels so derivative and unoriginal.

This is a surprisingly solid project from 2 Chainz. The production is amazing, and 2 Chainz is able to craft good hooks and flows over these instrumentals. I love the sampling and most of the features are great too. While not everything hits, this is a very impressive album from a rapper I’ve never really liked a project from.
