I've been really looking forward to this new Lala Lala album. I adore The Lamb and Lala Lala was able to prove time and time again how talented she is on that album, so I was hoping to get that talent and more with this.
I Want The Door To Open is a really beautiful and mystic album. A lot of these songs feel so dreamlike like Castle Life and Straight & Narrow. Other times, Lala Lala sounds really emotional and it's over-bearing ... read more

This is for New York City hipsters. If you're not a New York City hipster, you're just not gonna get it it's a fact.
FAVORITE TRACK: Enter Sandman – Rina Sawayama
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Sad But True – White Reaper
To discuss this 4 hour and 5 minute compilation album, I'm just going to rank them. That's right. This is a (loosely) rank, bitch.
1. Enter Sandman – Rina Sawayama (unfortunately, she came for names)
2. Nothing Else Matters – Miley Cyrus (they got everyone in the booth for this damn. Miley kills it though)
3. The Unforgiven – Flatbush Zombies feat. DJ Scratch (really ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Through the Never
So I plan on reviewing the Metallica Blacklist at some point- the four hour super project of covers from this album. But I have to listen to this all the way through which is something I've never done until now SO.
It's definitely one of the heavy metal albums of all time.
FAVORITE TRACK: Show Me The Body – “Stone Cold Earth”
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Denzel Curry, PlayThatBoiZay – “Bad Luck”
Well... there was definitely some choices made on this. There's some really good songs on here- like the Show Me the Body track, IDLES track and Starcrawler track. Even the Soccer Mommy track which sounds so out of place with the creepy and intense vibe the project had been building up until that point.
The first half of this is really ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: New Love Cassette (Mark Ronson Remix)
Just focusing on the six new tracks, these are a really beautiful collection of songs. The juxtaposition of these really clean remixes to these endearingly messy folk recordings of Smaller and It's Every Season is beautiful. Olsen sounds incredible on every song but especially her cover of Roxy Music's More Than This.
FAVORITE TRACK: Forever Young
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Safety Dance
Yes they're just covers but everything sounds a little better with Angel Olsen behind it.
FAVORITE TRACK: Bad Week (Casino Hearts Remix)
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Alt. Lena (Emily Yacina Remix)
For this remix album of Nastavi, Calliope, Babehoven invites some interesting creatives to remix their album. Some of these artists include Jacob Rubeck from Surf Curse (under the name Casino Hearts), Emily Yacina and Avery Tucker from Girlpool. These remixes are relaxing, however not always the cleanest.
Although some of the remixes might sound a little messy at first, a lot of them find ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Annie's Shoes
A really cute indie rock project with great vocals. The instrumentals are unique and simple enough to make Nastavi, Calliope a naturally beautiful album.

This is tiktok music. And I’m not saying that as a negative. I truly think PinkPanthress is a trailblazer for these short, aesthetic songs for people to dance to or make tiktoks to. The songs are short and catchy with a very strong cool, 2000s aesthetic to make these songs hits.
The slick aesthetic that PinkPanthress brings on Passion, I must apologise and Nineteen just highlights this “vibe” type of music she ... read more

To be honest, I don’t know much about Lil Ugly Mane. I feel there’s much more to his creative than just Lil Ugly Mane and his multiple side projects show that. The vast difference of Mista Thug Isolation compared to Headboard shows how versatile Travis Miller is as a musician. The surprise release of volcanic bird enemy and the voiced concern really could’ve been taken in any direction and the ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Your Brain Is a Rubbermaid
For those of you who may not know, The World Is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die is an emo band from Connecticut. They've been around for a while now, their first album coming out in 2011, but the band truly didn't find their sound until 2013 with the release of the song Heartbeat in the Brain. In my opinion, Heartbeat in the Brain is one of the best emo songs ever created- but the ... read more

Why are none of you WEIRDOS talking about this?? Daneshevskaya has a beautiful voice, amazing lyrics and the instrumentals on this are immaculate. The use of piano and strings just highlight the natural beauty of this sound.

Porches' new album is a collection of short, sweet songs for the end of the summer. Tracks like Lately, I Miss That and Back3School combines this electronic sound Porches has been crafting their whole career with a catchy pop sound. But that pop song is more apparent on All Day Gentle Hold ! than any past record by Aaron Maine- and it's the most prominent sound on the album. This EP by WOHO is good. I like the real personal and acoustic sound on this and the really detailed stories in the lyrics. However, I prefer this band's more noisy sound on their records.
FAVORITE TRACK: Do You Know Her?
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: ?
I think Misanthrope is a very special and unique record and I think these demos are good- they just aren't much different from what ended up on the album. But I do love the addition of synth on Do You Know Her?
