I saw Horsegirl open for Black Country, New Road in New York last night and they were great! I've enjoyed what I've heard from the group until now, but their performance gave me incentive to listen.
Horsegirl is a breath of fresh air. Versions of Modern Performance focuses on a solid vocal performance that is completely enhanced by incredible punk and shoegaze instrumentals. A lot of indie groups now, I feel, are lacking one ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Too In Love To Die
That's my favorite white girl with a guitar!!!!
FAVORITE TRACK: I Saw You
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Still Life
Although a little clunky at times, Flasher delivers a fun post-rock/indie record. Their large combination of sounds makes songs like Tangerine and Love Is Yours full of personality. Love Is Yours' main flaw is the pacing with some songs falling short on the sound.
FAVORITE TRACK: Underwater
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Oh My My My
A little bit of a let down from her incredible debut, Stella Donnelly is back with short, sweet pop songs. Unlike Beware of the Dogs, there really is no central theme that ties everything together. Although Stella Donnelly sounds beautiful on this album- especially on tracks like Lungs, Restricted Account and Underwater, it's not enough to make this album that incredibly engaging the way her debut was.
I feel bad comparing it so ... read more

One of the best to ever do it.
FAVORITE TRACK: Coldsweat
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Delicious Demon
Life's Too Good isn't perfect but it is fun and it's a solid blueprint to show off Björk's talent as a musician. Birthday, Fucking in Rhythm and Sorrow and Sick for Toys are all a little over the top in its lyrics and sometime its sound. I personally find that to be endearing (I love the creaming on Birthday!!!) but it's not for everyone. The guitar throughout this record is great, especially on the run from Coldsweat to ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: idk. maybe church girl.
I mean, she's the queen of pop for a reason.
RENAISSANCE might be Beyoncé's work. In the past, she's proven to be an expert in combining genres and switching her sound from rap to pop to R&B and even dipping into rock at times. But disco and house is the transformation we needed. It's clear who Beyoncé's influences are on this album with Diana Ross and Donna Summers coming to mind ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Elephant Gun
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: My Family's Role In The World Revolution
My boyfriend told me Elephant Gun reminded him of us and I thought that was very cute :)). On top of that, this is just a very fun and relaxing indie folk EP that I'm sure I'll grow to love even more over time.
FAVORITE TRACK: ODE TO THE GOODEST BOY
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: PEPPERONI LOPEZ
On BAD GRAVITY, Destructo Disk is able to create a sound reminiscent to 90s punk and early 2010s emo. Although the influence from acts like Title Fight, Turnstile and The Dead Milkmen is apparent, Destructo Disk never fails to make a loud and captivating album. This album is filled with great and fun guitar riffs on tracks like PUNK ROCK DIE, DESTRUCTO DEBT and PUNK ROCK DIE. Songs like YOU DON'T EVEN SURF HERE ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Desert Corpse
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Juanita
The two standouts on this are Desert Corpse and Knock On My Door. They're dark and loud and create this great gothic sound. The other songs are just too short to be memorable
FAVORITE TRACK: Chandelier Thief
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Tommy
I was a Run For Cover Warrior between 2014 and 2016 and I used to LOOOOOOVE this record. I listened to it all the way through for the first time in years today because I'm seeing Camp Cope this week with Petal as the opener. Shame is very pretty and personal. It's not the most impressive indie album but it's cute and emotional. Heaven, Feel and Chandelier Thief really show Petal's power in their songwriting. The vocals aren't the ... read more

Shoutout to Atlanta S3E1 for putting me onto this.
FAVORITE TRACK: Unholy Affliction
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Still
I've loved Soccer Mommy's past albums but this one... is just not really doing it for me. It's kinda boring. The best parts are when it goes surprisingly dark for Soccer Mommy, like on Unholy Affliction and Darkness Forever. Don't Ask Me and Shotgun sounds the most familiar to Soccer Mommy's sound. The rest really just comes off like filler.
FAVORITE TRACK: Dream Girl Evil
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Cassandra
Florence Welch is the ultimate fairy nymph. She made her aesthetic and stuck to it and has just continued to evolve throughout the years. Dance Fever is cathartic and theatric with Welch's powerful voice and lyrics leading this project. Tracks like King, Free and Daffodil highlight how much Florence Welch has when it comes to singing- something we've seen in all her past work, but this time it all builds and releases. The climax ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Out
Not my favorite vocally, but Pictoria Vark's The Parts I Dread is an intimate and pretty solo project and a great debut.
FAVORITE TRACK: High Hopes
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Diamond Eyes
Sweet Pill's debut is a nostalgic sounding power pop record that is led by intimacy and discussing weakness. Lead singer Zayna Youssef sounds incredible through and through on this record, with their powerful vocals being the biggest bright spot of Where the Heart Is. The biggest flaw is its repetitiveness at points in the instrumentation but is overall a fun debut.
