This is some psychedelic folk that I can get behind, I have been coming back to my favorite songs off of here (rice, I saw, and drum) all year. This whole album brings very peaceful and earthy vibes and I really respect the sound it’s going for but I feel like it’s very frontloaded. I start to lose interest during Geronimo.
With time I’ve come to appreciatethe outro with its unique production with a singer-songwriter anthem in the core of it. It feels very grand while also ... read more
This would be rated much higher if the entire second half of this was just deleted. If you just ignore all of the melodic songs this is one of the best rap projects of the year. Kosher is a damn great lyricist, he sounds hungry and his sound/flow is so unique.
I have so much fun listening to him do his thing. When he’s in his bag he has so many funny funny and clever bars with just punchline after punchline. The world-building kosher is doing here with his Jewish lyrics, the use of ... read more
The government could use this as a form of torture. Over three hours of extremely mid Gucci songs? I don’t think a single human listened to even half of this shit. It gives me anxiety just thinking about trying.
My favorite country album of all time. This is peak songwriting, and the emotion in Tyler’s voice is infectious and moving. Every song here is a magnificent showcase of how amazing country CAN be (but barely is).
Lady May, Feathered Indians, Universal Sound, I swear to god and whitehouse road are 10/10 masterpieces in my eyes. The only weak track here is banded Clovis but even it is respectable due to its story telling.
This album has made Tyler Childer’s the most interesting ... read more
The first crack in Eminem’s armor.
I still love it. The tracks that suck are still funny and I have nostalgia with them. My 1st single is one of his worst songs.
Mockingbird and like toy soldiers are masterpieces and there are so many solid songs through this tracklist that I come back to often (evil deeds, never enough, rain man)
I’m glad relapse was better than this, and I’m honestly just glad he survived this time period. It’s not as bad as some people make it out ... read more
Not his best but it has some of his best songs. Country squire, house fire and all your’n are some of the best country songs I’ve ever heard.
He has my favorite voice in the whole genre and his songwriting is top tier on this album. I’m not huge in the masturbation song and I notice I never come back to anything outside or all your’n, but it’s a solid album.
While not my favorite future album, this is what got me into him and I think it’s a great entry point. The production on this is way ahead of it’s time and it may be my dsvaoote produced trap album of all time. Songs like I serve the bass and groupies are so unique in their sonic palette and atmosphere and future is so versatile in his vocal performance it keeps me engaged across every song here. Even the weaker tracks like lil one have enough going on to keep it from being a skip. ... read more
The best trap album ever made, period. It’s dark, melodic, spacious and full of classics. This album is a staple for 2010’s hip hop and turned Travis Scott into a well-deserved super star who is a master of his craft.
This album makes me feel confident, it sounds like a late night in Dallas (my city) in 2016 while drinking and smoking weed with close friends and strangers who are all just lost in the moment to a youthful vibe I just can’t explain with words. This album is ... read more
This feels like if Rodeo and Owl Pharaoh had a child but had to give the child up for adoption by their uncle Astroworld who raised Utopia with the help of Huncho Jack who baby sit for him on the weekends.
The dark and psychedelic production paired with Travis’s dramatically improved rapping performances make for an extremely moody and intense listen.
Travis and the features usually have heavy voice manipulation and/or autotune that really goes with the atmosphere of this project to ... read more
This album represents everything bad in modern hip hop for me. Over saturated, low quality with mid features
This is my favorite Wayne album and I will die on this hill. Some of the best songs in his whole discography show up on this tracklist and there are several deep cuts like god bless America and back to you that I really love.
Beat the shit, curtains and rich as fuck are my favorite wayne songs to sing along with and love me/no worries were always on the radio when I was a kid and I’ve really grown to love them.
I love his use of autotune on his voice on this album and he has some of ... read more
A very forward thinking, collaborative psychedelic hip hop album. There are songs here I love (RIP screw, can’t say, sicko mode, Astro thunder, coffee bean), songs I’m meh on (butterfly effect, nc-17, who? What!, 5% tint), and songs I really don’t like (Yosemite, carousel, wake up). All of these tracks come together with one vibe that ties them all into a thematic package.
I think the features steal the show on a lot of these songs in way that they don’t on Rodeo, which ... read more
The best written album of all time. It’s somehow better than what everyone says, Jeff Mangum is a musical genius in the likes we only see every 50-100 years.
The instrumental palette is so refreshing and unique for. This genre and it does such an amazing job of creating its own world. The lyrics here are like passing dream sequences and create imagery better than any other literature I have found.
A truly perfect, must listen album.
A mixture of not-bad songs, really good songs, forgettable songs and really awful songs. I unironically really like a lot of her hits that are found on here and I thought how high was one of her best songs she’s made so far.
The production is boring and sounds too much alike on every song, her lyrics are meh and a lot of these songs aren’t catchy but her charisma and ass shaking abilities make up for it.
Deducting some points because of the cover, what the fuck is this
Just a collection of really solid folk/indie rock songs. My favorite Beatles album to sing a long with and the one with the most replay-ability for me personally. It’s an amazing album for car rides and it never overstays it’s welcome. I think this is some of the best performances ever seen from Paul and I actually prefer this to a lot of their later stuff that gets most of the praise from the band.
Phenomenal simple little album with straightforward songs. The guitar playing, ... read more
My favorite Beatles album. It’s colorful, full of heart, fun, emotional, consistent, beautiful, experimental and psychedelic. There isn’t much about this album I can say that hasn’t been said a million times, I just love how well the concept is executed and even the deep cuts on here that don’t get as much life as the others (fixing a hole, when I’m 64, she’s leaving home) are absolutely amazing songs in their own right. The song writing and quality never ... read more
This feels a lot like sgt peppers but with more experimental deep cuts in the first half (flying, fool on the hill) then the iconic Beatles hits in the second half (I am the walrus, all you need is love, goodbye, hello, penny lane and strawberry fields) and the arrangement of various instruments throughout from flute to string instruments keep the listener engaged for every single second of its runtime.
I do not think this project is quite as strong ad peppers, I think peppers has higher ... read more
The greatest bloated album of all time. It’s all over the place in the best way. Every genre that is explored here is done so tastefully and every creative risk taken here pays off in a major way. There is not a single bad song here, this is the Beatles at their peak. I’ll never forget my first time listening to this, makes an hour and a half feel like 20 minutes.
It’s so easy to just get lost in rigid music and feel totally immersed in the sonic journey these tracks take ... read more
Testing is a weird one. Depending on the day and my mood, I can really hate this album or I can really love it.
I think there are some great songs here: asap forever, fukk sleep, distorted records, purity and tony tone. Then there are songs on here that are just complete misses for me, which sadly is the majority of the track list.
Even the songs I like on here have parts of the songs I really don’t like, rocky tried a lot of weird stuff here and I really respect the artistic vision ... read more
