I wasn't sure about it for the first minute, but it immediately clicked after that. It might be the best song they've ever made; it certainly is the most interesting.

The Callous Daoboys - I Don't Want to See You in Heaven

Such an interesting record, it single-handedly made me want to review albums on this site again. Just a ferocious typhoon of genre blending and ridiculous energy. Infectious hooks buried beneath some impressive mathy stuff and sharp lyricism. They've made a fan out of me.

Now for the scoring. Here's how I do it:

After reviewing their self-titled album, I genuinely wasn't sure what to expect from their second effort. Despite considering myself a Slipknot fan for much of my teenage years, I didn't have a lot of history with "Iowa." Quite honestly, Slipknot helped 12-13 year old me diversify my music tastes. Before hearing "Wait and Bleed" and immediately falling in love with their music, most of what I listened to consisted of shitty pop punk and some classic rock cuts passed down to me from my father. Hearing the guttural anger of Slipknot awoke something in me and got me ... read more

After taking a nostalgic trip through Visions and Art Angels, I figured it was only fair that I checked out Miss Anthropocene next. In stark contrast to the last two albums, this was one that I had never listened to in its entirety. I had heard a few songs off of it and thought they were relatively good, but I never dove deep into this record. That all changed with this review. So what did I think? Was it as good as the other two albums?

Yes and no.

While I still thought this album was very ... read more
