Such an interesting record, it single-handedly made me want to review albums on this site again. Just a ferocious typhoon of genre blending and ridiculous energy. Infectious hooks buried beneath some impressive mathy stuff and sharp lyricism. They've made a fan out of me.

After reviewing their self-titled album, I genuinely wasn't sure what to expect from their second effort. Despite considering myself a Slipknot fan for much of my teenage years, I didn't have a lot of history with "Iowa." For my second set of reviews on AOTY, I've decided to take a dive into the discography of one of my favorite bands as a teenager, Slipknot. After taking a nostalgic trip through Visions and Art Angels, I figured it was only fair that I checked out Miss Anthropocene next. In stark contrast to the last two albums, this was one that I had never listened to in its entirety. I had heard a few songs off of it and thought they were relatively good, but I never dove deep into this record. That all changed with this review. So what did I think?
