Bola - Soup
95

unsettling. industrial, calming, and way ahead of it's time. What a phenomenal record

Mamaleek - Diner Coffee
90

One of the most unique, creative, and interesting metal albums in quite some time

The Mars Volta - The Mars Volta
85

So many people willing to throw a good album under the bus, only because it doesn't sound like their older stuff. I mean correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't TMV always been about experimenting and trying new sounds and styles. At any rate, No it's not the usual TMV sound, but its still a good album with some great ideas behind it.

Lemon Jelly - Lemonjelly.ky

What a pleasant album

Favorite tracks: Nervous Tension, Homage To Patagonia

Panic! at the Disco - Viva Las Vengeance
20

I don't know what to say except Star Bangled Banger might be the worst song ever written.

Interpol - The Other Side of Make-Believe
85

This is a nice one. Rather generic for Interpol but them playing it safe really served the album better I think. Probably one of their best projects in a while and I will most likely be revisiting.

Suicide - Suicide

I get the significance of the album. I just really didn't like it.

The Mars Volta - Blacklight Shine

They're back baby! Excellent single, cant wait to hear more.

おとぼけビ~バ~ [Otoboke Beaver] - スーパーチャンポン [SUPER CHAMPON]
50

Actually really disappointed by this. Very similar to their last album. All of the songs being so short and similar means they all eventually blend together and its just not what I wanted or expected from them this time around.

Throbbing Gristle - The Second Annual Report
70

What the hell did I just listen to?

Polygon Window - Surfing on Sine Waves
65

Really solid album with some great tracks, however the album feels a bit long and the track quality takes a steep decline in the second half.

Guerilla Toss - Famously Alive
87

Thoroughly enjoying this. One of their most consistent albums and not sure I understand the low ratings here. I got exactly what I expected and wanted from one of their albums.

Favorite Tracks: Wild Fantasy, Cannibal Capital, Happy Me

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard & Tropical Fuck Storm - Satanic Slumber Party
65

Its just really weird, its got some merits but not really either of these bands best work

Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
85

This was a 1000th rating! and what an album. I put this off for too long. The weird sound are definitely there on Pt. 2 but its not a detriment in my opinion, it works fine and doesn't take away form the experience

Big Thief - Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You
100

Wow, this was my introduction to Big Thief, wasn't expecting this at all and pleasantly surprised at what's on offer here. For such a long album there is so much variety and the music never feels like a drag.

Zeal & Ardor - Zeal & Ardor
80

This Run The Jewels album sounds weird

Yard Act - The Overload
65

Serviceable as a Post-Punk record, but it just hits all the genre tropes you'd expect with nothing new really on the table

Gilla Band - Holding Hands with Jamie
75

Honestly worth a listen for Paul alone

Animal Collective - Time Skiffs
85

An excellent and very welcome return to form for Animal Collective. If you haven't been a fan of their recent albums but still love stuff like MPP or Strawberry Jam don't pass this one up

Favorite tracks: Prester John, Cherokee

Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There
90

The only thing stopping this from being a perfect score is just time getting to know the album. I'm extremely hesitant all the time to give a brand new album a 100 right off the bat. But if there was any album that I can already say I'm gonna come back and re-rate to be perfect its this one.

I can't believe what was accomplished here, its just simply an amazing album with track after track being memorable and different.

I wish Isaac the best, but I hope he knows what an absolute classic ... read more

""he robot who wants to be a human or to feel human emotions is a little uninspired and cliche, but at the same time it adds a cinematic atmosphere, like a low-key sci-fi book. I enjoyed the most of the songs, except 'Vomit Coffin' (and all the vomit stuff)" Great review, but this part bothered me, because if you listen to the words or read along the entire last part is about Han-Tyumi and his mission not to become human and feel emotions. But to Vomit and Die. "

"But when the sound is regressive like this than i'd say its more worth the low scores. I mean if you're going to tell me the instrumentation and sound on this album is more evolved than Plastic Beach, id say you were crazy. "
