SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE - ENTERTAINMENT, DEATH
60

Just an average indie album with some edgy noise added in to try and be different. What it really turns out to be is perfectly middle of the road and mostly forgettable

Genghis Tron - Dream Weapon
70

Its a decent album, I'm just very hurt that after 13yrs this is the follow up we got. Genghis Tron were leading the pack when it came to experimenting with their sound and now we just have what could be best described as a left over HEALTH album.

The Antlers - Green To Gold
70

Extremely pleasant album

The Horrors - Lout
85

I love KMFDM

The Avalanches - We Will Always Love You
100

Let me make this easy:

Not as good as Since I Left You
Definitely better than Wildflower

Edi: I cannot stop listening to this album. Its been playing up to 3x a day every day since release. I cant not give it a perfect score. I'm still not sure if its better than Since I Left You, if not better definitely on par. This is just an astonishing album

Casiopea - Mint Jams
100

Not only is it a fantastic album, but it also sounds like Gran Turismo menu music.

Couldn't ask for more from an album

The War on Drugs - LIVE DRUGS
90

Simply put, this will go down with some of the best live albums. Absolutely incredible.

Gorillaz - Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez
75

Its not bad, just incredibly dull. I cant help but feel like we've heard everything Damon can bring to the table for Gorillaz.

Favorites: The Lost Chord, Pac-Man

Clown Core - Van
80

Unironically a good album, definitely their best

Mew - Half the World is Watching Me
65

This a proto-Frengers and if you're just discovering Mew this album I would consider non-essential

Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children
100

I've spent a good portion of my life swearing I didn't get BoC or I didn't like BoC, or I was just bored by them. The one day in quarantine I thought to myself, why not try them again.

I don't think I've ever so quickly changed an opinion on an artist. I'm not sure what was different but I get it and I'm in love with this album.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this one. I am a big fan of Arca and her earlier work (Mutant is one of my favorite electronic albums.) As expected her production is top notch and like nothing i've heard before. Unfortunately I feel like this album was a mis-step for me, she strayed a little close to art pop for me to enjoy this as much as her other albums.

Amnesia Scanner - Tearless
40

One of the most boring and predictable electronic albums I've listened to in a long time. What a massive disappointment

Save yourself and only listen to AS Aca and AS Going. They're the only songs worth anything on the entire album.

Muzz - Muzz
67

Its not bad, its just extremely boring and is way too long for whats on offer. The last few songs really started blending into one another before I realized one was even over.

75

This is a lot to take in, and Arca is not a simple artist. Asking to listen to an hour long track is a lot and this isn't for everyone to listen to. But its worth it at least once.

King Krule - Man Alive!
55

I don't think I get the hype. its a decent album and Archie has a well defined sound but its just really boring to me. Much like The OOZ, I really tried and just got nothing out of it.

BAMBARA - Stray
85

Bambara show an even further advancement on this album. Experimenting with slower songs different instruments and softer vocals. It makes for an amazing listening experience. They're really trying to expand their sound and become a more versatile band. Absolutely worth a listen, definitely AOTY material

Favorite Tracks: Sing Me To The Street, Serafina, Death Croons, Stay Cruel
Least Favorite: honestly, none

Against All Logic - 2017 - 2019
90

This is a definite departure from 2009-2017. But I welcome the new sound, its heavy on experimentation rather than grooves like the last album. The track list on offer here is excellent with some amazing tracks and transitions to help provide a flow that was seemingly missing from his last effort. I know I've compared it a lot to the last AAL album but overall I think this is a more consistent, experimental and out there experience.

Favorite Tracks: Fantasy, Alarm, Faith, Penny

Tall Tall Trees - A Wave of Golden Things

The best Tall Tall Trees album to date. Mike Sabino has proven himself to be an extremely talented musician capable of writing a performing really excellent music. His albums keep improving over time and im excited to see where he can take this next.

Favorite tracks: Expectations, A Number of Signs
Least Favorite: The Wind,She Whispers

""he robot who wants to be a human or to feel human emotions is a little uninspired and cliche, but at the same time it adds a cinematic atmosphere, like a low-key sci-fi book. I enjoyed the most of the songs, except 'Vomit Coffin' (and all the vomit stuff)" Great review, but this part bothered me, because if you listen to the words or read along the entire last part is about Han-Tyumi and his mission not to become human and feel emotions. But to Vomit and Die. "

"But when the sound is regressive like this than i'd say its more worth the low scores. I mean if you're going to tell me the instrumentation and sound on this album is more evolved than Plastic Beach, id say you were crazy. "
