This is the best 80s revival sound album. So many absolute bangers. This is gonna go down as an all-time classic.
This has a lot of classics and could have been a ‘10s pop classic with maybe 9 or 10 of these tracks, but all the filler songs they add in (especially that Fifty Shades Of Grey song wtf was that) are just straight up bad and bring down the album a lot. Still worth listening to though.
His most experimental and IMO best project. Every song feels so trippy and alien and the pacing is amazing. I cannot believe the same man who made Blinding Lights made Gone (best track btw haters btfo).
The most accessible album on Trilogy and an absolute masterpiece of sludgy darkness.
Production on here is great, Car$on definitely has room to improve when it comes to flow but this is a really solid project and deserves a spot at everyone’s parties.
Idk how you could think this is mid. Some of both the best lyricism and production in all of trap music. This album has a really strong personal connection with me for some reason despite being as new as it is. Vibes all around.
I like how glitchy and experimental this is but honestly I’m not the biggest fan of Denzel on boom bap beats as opposed to trap beats. Still an enjoyable lil project though.
One of the best little trap mixtapes of all time. Every single beat goes dummy and Zel bodies every single one of them with his crazy flow and bars. Zeltron 6 Billion is possibly the awesomest collab of all time.
Such a goated album, in my opinion at least Madlib’s production here is better than on Madvillainy, one of my slightly hot takes. Quas is such an icon with a rlly unique flow as well. Just track after track of awesome trippy weird surreal rap bangers. Must-listen.
It’s just fun asf and really, really well-produced especially for its time. A classic that everyone needs to hear.
Absolute classic. It’s so much fun to listen to. They really invented cloud rap with Lyrics To Go.
Gonna use this review box to also review any LRD bootlegs that I’ve heard that aren’t listed on AOTY. For a little extra context, Les Rallizes Denudes are one of the most mysterious bands on the planets, they have almost no recorded studio music and the majority of music that is listened to from them is bootleg live recordings that are circulated around. Their lead singer was incredibly reclusive, for 20 years he was totally off the grid and presumed dead until he made an appearance ... read more
It’s a bit higher quality than BLVCKLVND but also less abrasive and more atmosphere oriented. I’m honestly not sure which one I prefer but the sampling on this one is absolutely on point. Classic and insanely influential album alongside it’s more lo-fi brother. Also please find an OG version of this, the streaming version makes the absolute TRAVESTY of removing the Microsoft 3D Pinball sound effects which honestly raise the album’s score by like 7 points alone.

Very eclectic album, can move from happy and fun to somber, melancholic, and dark and back just within a couple of tracks. It’s reminiscent of Wish by The Cure in that way, another album from a post-punk group that emerged around the same time as them and released around the same time as this. That said, it has a very full and more relaxed sound generally. There’s a couple of songs that I have no idea what they were trying to do on (Radio Song?!?!?!?) but this is a fun album with ... read more
It’s a poppier take on the same sound they did on Chronic Town. There’s a couple of misses and I feel like I’ve heard Radio Free Europe too many times to have a coherent opinion on it but the highlights of this album for me are actually the songs that lean harder into the relaxed jangle pop sound (Laughing, Sitting Still, Shaking Through, We Walk). Good follow-up.
