fuck bro life1 is gonna be so good
So Dark Magic is the first single for Quad's upcoming album and it is really good. It's got some crazy atmospheric production, some awesome vocals, Quad's autotune always manages to sound really good despite the trope not being my favorite, and just some masterful work from my boy. I'm so hyped for the album
Yeah, this is way better than The Low End Theory. This thing opens with the absolutely INSANE "The Space Program", that has a killer beat and some amazing rapping, the flows on this track are just amazing and it has some really good samples. Hip-Hop, for me, at least, almost NEEDS to be experimental, wacky, and weird, because that's the appeal for me: rappers playing with flows, rhymes, and rhythm over beats that are strange, wild, and just so great to listen to, and this album ... read more
"Go get yourself some toilet paper 'cuz your lyrics is butt."
A classic for a reason. I've been meaning to listen to ATCQ for a while, I've always been intrigued by their odd album covers and their near universal praise. This album opens really strongly with "Excursions", a very simple jazzy track with some really strong rapping, immediately followed up by "Buggin' Out", which feels pretty similar but with some unique flows. There are two ... read more
man what do you mean there's a song on here called "In McDonalds"
Honestly I have no idea what to expect from this album. I don't know anything about dubstep and "Future Garage" and this opener, "Archangel" is a strange glitchy psychedelic, haunting dreamscape that bumbles and twists and turns as it moves. This album is shrouded in so much mystery. Between that album cover to its title and its genres and even its rating this album is just a face in the ... read more
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS SAMPLES THE "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" SONG????
In the words of a lost visionary, "I'm hoes."
So this is Danny Brown and Peggy working together to create an album. It's experimental hip-hop so experimental that all the gardening tools hiding in the crevices of my body are leaving to the farm on the hill with daisies. I honestly don't have too much to say about this album, I'm really tired and don't feel ... read more

And a crack on the head

I need more 80s in my life, so here we go! "Meat Is Murder" is a lesser known album from The acclaimed Smiths, that starts off with the absolutely killer "The Headmaster Ritual", introducing their jangle pop / post-punk sound that just works so nicely. Electric, groovy guitars straight from the womb of the 80s accompany Steven Morrissey's jangly, deep ... read more
actually good rap with some fun experimentation and a fire beat for the TYLER THE CREATOR GRINCH SONG??? I'm hearing things I've never heard in a rap song here and it's a kid's christmas song for a kid's movie.
Also, it's May. Take that.
So this is the final album I first heard about because of that Vsauce album covers short, those albums being this, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea and Death Grips' mixtape "Exmilitary", I loved both of those so I'm excited to listen to this. The album opens with "Disorder", this wavy, guitar bouncing track that introduces Ian Curtis' vocals and I think they fit the almost space-y vibe this opener puts forward really well, there are some leading guitars that sing ... read more
I'm genuinely afraid and unsettled.
This may be one of the most harrowing listening experiences I've ever had. This child is the spearhead of the movement of the new generation of humanity that may one day end the world as we know it.
This kid is fucking five years old and even she knows it.
But hey, at least she makes better music than J.T. Hiskey. He's not even addicted to Roblox and his music sucks more ass than this five year old.
HIS VOICE FINALLY CLICKED IN MY BRAIN
Ain't it funny how it happens?
I have been trying to get into this album for actual weeks. Each time I start "Downward Spiral" and I just can't get Danny's Voice to click with me until now, it finally clicked in my head and I like it now, I am actually overjoyed and so excited to get into this album. This opener, "Downward Spiral" is kind of like the rap equivalent of Trinidad from Geese's Getting Killed, the beat ... read more
I really hate it when people make their review of a soundtrack their review of the movie/game instead of actually talking about the soundtrack
Album Trade Week 8: @Rolymongone
What is the difference between a mixtape an an album? I've heard some people say that albums are more cohesive and tell a story and mixtapes are just a collection of songs, but... that's wrong. I've heard some people say that they started as a more illegal collection of songs that DJs would make and sell without licensing their samples but there are plenty of mixtapes nowadays that aren't that, so what even are they? Just albums with a ... read more

"When all of the clowns that you have commissioned
Have died in battle or in vain
And you're sick of all this repetition
Won't you come see me, Queen Jane?"
After listening to 4 hip-hop albums in a row I thought that for my next album for this week instead of listening to Charles Hamilton I'd listen to some good ol' Bob Dylan folk rock, I've never tapped into Dylan's stuff before but I've always heard its ... read more
Vaudeville Villain is the album released under DOOM's much less goofy and much more sinister supervillain persona, Viktor Vaughn, who showed up briefly on Madvillainy on the song Fancy Clown, a much more serious and angry song about being cheated on, which was a bit left turn from the rest of that album that consisted of a lot of goofier villainy antics. I absolutely adore that song off Madvillainy and so seeing an entire album based off of that persona of DOOM's is super cool. This ... read more

Some really nice hip-hop. The early 2000s were an insane time for hip-hop, notably DOOM was at his prime, and this album fits nicely into that era. It's fun, it's groovy, and it's really skilled. Lupe Fiasco is a really great rapper here, he has a softer, more relaxing voice that's super smooth in every bar he raps, which is awesome to hear. This is oddly relaxing, honestly, the jazzy beats on this album combined with the soft rapping make ... read more
"Upgrade your grey matter, cause one day it may matter"
Yeah, it's great. Del the Funky Homosapien raps really well here, it reminds me of MC Ride a bit off of Death Grips' work, and that's definitely a good thing. I used to have an issue with deeper rap voices like this but I've honestly gotten over it. This album's electronic beats are really great fun and fit the sci-fi dystopian vibe they're going for really well, I really love me a good concept ... read more
"I tripped a lot out here in the woods lately."
In honor of JPEGMAFIA's disparaged album release of "Experimental Rap" earlier today, instead of listening to something I don't think I'll like I'm listening to the real shit, DOOM. Madvillainy being my third favorite album of all time you'd think I'd listen to some more DOOM sooner but I guess I didn't, fuck me cause this shit is so good. Let's look at "Beef Rapp". ... read more

Sorry for being late, I was gone, off in California in Disneyland one day, my dad's PhD graduation ceremony the next day, and visiting the town I lived 4 years of my childhood in on the third day. So how do I like this album? Well... uh... it's alright. I'm not a big fan of this sugary sweet kind of electronic pop that feels like I'm being drowned in red 40 and glucose by the pound. It's honestly just a little too sweet for me, and the ... read more
