There isn't a single skip on this album. I actually like every single song on this. It has a different sound from the story-telling Cilvia Demo and the laidback druggy The Suns Tirade. To begin with, the concept is great. Using water as a reference to the truth and transparency in so many ways to incorporate it into his lyrics is impressive. Eerie production and hard gangsta rap is a recipe for success when you have the talent that Freddie and Madlib have, and its on full display here
Madlib's production is great as its helps separate this album from anything else in the genre while not taking the spotlight from Freddie's bars. Gangsta rap often gets overlooked when it comes to albums, but this deserves its place as an essential 2010's west coast album
While it does has a couple flaws, and isn't something you've never head when it comes to its general sound, its super enjoyable. It has a decent amount of variety, even though a lot of the pop songs sound a bit generic and aren't really my thing, I can respect it for sure. They sound good, he has a surprisingly good voice and range, I like the way it sounds no homo. He's done so much to prove he's not a one hit wonder, he proved a lot of us wrong. I never thought I'd be saying this about Simz as I didn't expect her to get so much praise so fast but, overrated
Ok so production is fuckin beautiful, everyone can agree on that. But it gets repetitive.
