didnt love the vocals but this production was top notch. not exactly my cup of tea, but there were some great synthpop trcks on here that obviously had a huge 80s influence. pretty well put together and mixed as well.

too long, and repeats the same thing too much. the beats are fine, but there is much more modern electronic and dance style music that is offered today that is much stronger than this. not bad, but just didnt have enough substance to hold itself without the support of international superstars new order.
a more annoying companion to the stellar slime season tape. ss2 is just more abstract and far apart, seemingly uncoordinated. the songs are fine i guess but young thug's voice gets more and more squeaky and croony. i did think that the production was pretty great, but the mixtaope as a whole should have been executed a bit better.

milo throwin shade at riff raff wheres that feud?

the darkest project that we've been treated with from MF DOOM so far. the production strays away from the jazz style that made operation: doomsday so memorable, and goes towards a variety of different instruments and sounds used to make the beats. DOOM also delivers some of the better lyrics of his career, and tells a very clear and entertaining story. the only part of this project i didnt care for too much were the open mic nite tracks, i appreciate the intent but the interruptions by the ... read more
a distorted mess of an ep, but a beautiful one at that. the sounds are all over the place and art so well mixed and produced. i think this is what it would sound like to have a seizure while on shrooms.
fav tracks: mametchi/usohachi, gold coast, peach rift
kanye west's debut is one of the best examples of hip hop mixed with soul music. he has smooth, eloquent beats that make up each song and give each its own special character. there were times where the tracks became slow and a bit boring, but they picked up the pace not too long after. many people forget that the college dropout was kanye's chance to prove himself as a rapper, as he was known as a reputable producer beforehand. mister west outdid himself and delivered one of the best modern ... read more
the finest of art rock. some of the all time best instrumentals and musical arrangements.
fav tracks: st elmo's fire, the big ship, zawinul/lava
its some nice background music but it isnt comparable to the previous projects doom has been a part of. i wish he had a bigger part in this, although it seemed to be that he took a part in this to help nehru get his name out there. this isnt bad, but its disappointing. the production was in classic doom fashion, i gotta admit that he would have fit these beats much better alone. the skits and random vocal samples at the end of songs were pontless as well.
fav tracks: caskets
theres still tons of cocaine references. that hasnt changed. but the album has a much darker production style and vibe to it. whoever kehlani is, she had a decent contribution to this record, in my opinion the best feature. nice improvement from the last record, i can see pusha t making a mbdtf level record in the future.

an incredible record for bjork, that combines her electronic style with the mainstream pop of the mid nineties. probably one of the best pop LPs from the decade, as it combines the musical styles of so many genres, like classical, pop, electronic, and retro dance. delivers some of the best bjork has from the decade. i thought this record had a lot more emotion and charisma to it compared to other bjork records, a lot coming from the variation bjork has on her voice. a real pop ... read more
very enjoyable. nothing on this album stood out too much to me, whether it be good or bad. the production was some of the best that i have heard from the trap genre this year. young thug can rap, he has nice flow and is a solid lyricist. but his voice is so annoying. aside from that, solid project.
fav tracks: check, halftime
found this to get boring after a while. the production also began to bore me a few tracks in. the only aspect of this project that held my attention was the story told, staples has a great style of telling it. very overrated but a decent album
TOO radio friendly. none of this makes me want to die or anything, butgod this is sappy and generic and frankly very boring. words i never said was a highlight, i liked the production and straightforward lyrics, however that wasnt enough to bring this album up. also, what were the guitars in state run radio?? they were so out of place and had a wannabe metal sound to them, giving yet another problem with this record. whoever MDMA is, he had some awfully bland features, as did basically ... read more
busdriver ups his production game on this tape, however his lyricism takes a hit. the choruses are a overdone a couple times and some of the lines seem cheesy, but those are the only small flaws. what i think this project really showcases is busdriver's skills as a technical rapper. he has a crazily fast delivery (great spooks of enormous strengh) and he flows so nicely with the production style. i liked the more relaxed style on perfect hair, but the style on thumbs is equally good or even ... read more
didnt stand out too much to me, nothing was too great and nothing was too bad either
cudi seems to progress his sound on this record. the production is noticeably darker and more electronic, and the beats as a whole are very well done, there isnt one that seemed very poorly constructed. in addition, RZA had a terrific verse. there was a trippy vibe to this project and it made me think of the first man on the moon LP. we all know now that kid cudi is probably not going to give his fans what they want, but hes gonna give something memorable, good or bad.

stupid and generic. although there are some clever lyrics and decent melodies, the theme of this LP is batshit retarded. focused on being a child and having childlike features gets old after 2 songs, and having actual counds from a sippy cup do NOT help your album be more "creative". a really cringy album
