I do have some positive things to say about this track tbh.
The BNYX production is cool and it's nice to see track choose producers with perhaps a bit of a different style. I love the sonic template it offers and with a better rapper or even just a better rap over it...it could've been really good.
But most of what I have to say is negative.
Drake gets on this track with the most lukewarm flow humanely possible and drops a bunch of forgettable bars with the only thing really sticking out to ... read more
While the production may at times sound awfully familiar to something we've heard before from these three artists individually, it's hard to deny the emotional and lyrical weight carried throughout the record.

One of the better pop punk records of recent memory
Favs: I Am My Own Muse, Hold Me Like a Grudge, Love From The Other Side
This album feels like a caffeine overdose in the best way possible.
The production is absolutely wild. It's 100% all high energy, some of it reminiscent of work Peggy has done before, some of it reminiscent of production from Danny Browns projects, and some of it completely unique. All of it is fantastically done. The mix isn't exactly "perfect" but in a lot of ways, it feels incredibly intentional as it fits the production style very well.
Danny and Peggy are absolutely ridiculous ... read more
Good album with more of a sonic dive into alt-rock flavors vs the more abstract sound of their earlier releases, however at times it seems to be missing the hookiness / uniqueness of their previous work.
Favs: Purified by the Fire, Fear Evil Like Evil, Parody
Least favorite: In Spite of War
Edit: nah the vibes are right honestly just take a couple more listens. Score adjusted from 70 β‘οΈ 83
On their second record, the Gecs dial in on a more rock focused sound but still maintain as diverse a sonic pallete as ever. Everything is tight, neither over nor understated, and consistently absurd throughout.
Also the album opens with a sample of the THX Deep Note which honestly makes the two year wait completely worth it.
Favorite tracks: Dumbest Girl Alive, Hollywood Baby, Frog On The Floor, 757, Doritos & Fritos, I Got My Tooth Removed

It feels like quite often rei brown gets written off as a "Joji clone" and his music gets written off as well but if you actually give Xeno a chance to stand on it's own, it truly is quite unique.
Xeno is full of what Rei himself loosely described as "Sci Fi Pop" and I feel that's an apt description. Much of the album is full of easygoing pop cuts layered with gorgeous synths, guitars, synthetic drums and spacey vocals.
The production value is absolutely immaculate, with ... read more
This album really is quite strange. Not only in the fact that it's a unique album in Weezer's entire discography, but also it's obvious influence on the later wave of emo rock music.
Whether it be it's often angsty, desperate, heartbroken lyrics or it's loud and noisy delivery, Pinkerton does a really good job of transporting you to Rivers headspace.
The album is full of it's emotional highs and lows but yet I find no reason to dislike or even feel "meh" on any of it. Once you're ... read more
There are some good songs here but even with the deluxe tracks the album remains a bit too aesthetically boring / unimaginative to truly enjoy.
Favorite tracks: Embarrassed, Let Her Go, Bus Stop
Least favorite: Geronimo
A consistently bad mix of bad flows, lazy beats, and a lack of personality disguised as a Dollar Store Whole Lotta Red.
Unlike labelmate Ken Carson, Lonely is capable of choosing some solid beats, often relying on an interesting combo of Lofi casio-esque tones and psychedelic atmospheres. Unfortunately Lonely consistently manages to not stand out at all amidst any of it.
It's alright for a Pop / Dance crossover (if the Chainsmokers aren't proof enough that it can be done far worse), but very little ends up standing out in the end.
Best tracks: Way Back, Ceremony
Worst track: Summertime
Continually Yeat has proven (and continued to prove on this LP) that he can make far better & unique music then a lot of his fellow Carti influenced peers (Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, etc), however it's his continuous lack of editing / limiting himself that makes his full length projects generally a slog to get through.
Yet again, AftërLyfe is another "put the tracks you love on a playlist and forget the rest exist" album.
Also the talking Ben app is on this album I ... read more
It's not a bad album, but it's a bit safe, a bit too by the numbers, and unfortunately, a bit forgettable.
Let me preface by saying, it's definitely not bad. Tracks like Baby Queen & Cracker Island are definitely proof of that. Thundercats fantastic bass and vocals bring tons of life to Cracker Island, and Baby Queen sounds like an alternate take on the Plastic Beach sound.
But much of the album feels too safe, perhaps due to the heavy input of producer Greg Kurstin. Tracks like New Gold ... read more
While I was worried by the quality of the singles, College Park is actually a very good record packed with plenty of highlights.
Musically there are plenty of moments reminiscent of the classic hip hop homages on Vinyl Days, however on College Park they're more tight and polished, with elements of modern trap and even little Indie Rock influenced bits peeking in here and there. Lyrically, Logic is loosely focused around his own come up in hip hop, the culture of his environment and his own ... read more
