Huh. That happened. I'm glad it happened but uh...it happened.
EDIT: Ok so after giving this album multiple listens, I gotta say that I've heard both crazier and more interesting from Daughters. Not a bad start to their career but not their best.
While the production is fantastically unique and fun, and MF Doom is skilled on the mic as per usual, the potential of the album is kind of lost through the abundance of Adult Swim skits, making the whole album feel like a glorified comercial.

In an genre of music that seemed to be filled with nothing but annoying, whiny and downright intolerable music, Deftones seemed to have the nu-metal formula down. And here they are at their prime, firing off all cylinders at their most fearsome, while changing the music scene they were in at their tamest. Experimental, fun, entertaining, poignant and just all around great, White Horse is an trip you have to take.

It's heavy, beautiful, dark, light, fun, sad, noisy, catchy, fun and absolutely entertaining art-punk. With the scratchiness of a Idles record, backed by the catchy vocals of a No Doubt record, it's a combination that creates beautifully chaotic sounds, and it's damn enthralling to listen to, with almost each track making me actually gasp. It showcases the themes of the cover beautifully, with the beauty and cleanness being paired with the fiery chaos of the instrumentation. At only 33 minutes, ... read more
It's defiantly Death Grips at their angsty-ist, unsure in themselves and in the world, doped up on paranoia, fear, anger, hate and what seems to be DMT to create a mixtape that's much more cohesive and accessible then anything Death Grips would go on to do. It's a stranded Death Grips record, but even at their most basic components Death Grips still delivers crazy amounts of depth and intrigue to leave listeners wanting more.

Daft Punk have always been a group that have provided quality tunes through thick and thin, and Discovery is no exception. From the bright, futuristic synths to the heavy, dance-able drum and bass work, it's the sound of a party from the past, present and future. Every song has an infectious, intense, almost euphoric quality to them, making the record instantly re-playable and fun to listen to. While it does loose some of it's steam near the end, the entire ride is still a fantastic discovery ... read more
The time it took me to add this album onto the site and write this review is only just shorter then the run-time of this album, but goddamn is it glorious. In all of it's hellish, fast, deranged, and damn fun punk glory, its a shotgun blast to the face of aggression, anger, and brute force playing. It's hard to really place how great it is because it is so short that you only get a taste, but that taste is so good you'll be wanting to go back for more.

What I expected from a new D'Angelo record: A nice, ear-pleasing collection of neo-soulful tracks that goes down easier then Bourbon. What I got: Jimi Hendrix, Micheal Jackson, James Brown, with a splash of The Beatles, Kendrick Lamar and Nas wielding a flaming sword, while somehow maintaining the same songwriting sensibilities as his previous records, but this time packaged into a more interesting and creative package. Also he says the line "I hit it so I made the pussy fart". ... read more
Let it be known: This album sounds like sex. It's a smooth, sexual and extremely intimate record that doesn't bore or disgust you with how "hot" it is. The album earns it's sexual nature, by not shoving it down your throat (hehe), but allowing you to click into it's groove. And with 10 tracks spanning 53 minutes, (even if it does drag slightly by the end) it's an easy ride that you can easily take again, however it doesn't change or shake up the formula that much. Mouth Moods can sometimes be disregarded as yet another meme extravaganza from Neil, but there is so much more here then just some memes. Neil clearly has a love for music, and wants the share that love with the world in the form of musical Frankenstein monsters like this. It's a beautiful, hilarious, fun, entertaining and downright great ride to take, if your in the mood for something more wacky then your used to.
Favorite Jams: T.I.M.E, Shit, Wow Wow

In a lot of ways, Mouth Silence is a big improvement over Mouth Sounds, both in production and overall quality of tracks. And in some ways, it's funnier then Mouth Sounds, with tracks like Friends, Sexual Lion King, Crocodile Chop and Pokemon being comedic standouts. However, this installment is probably the lest memorable, even though, in all of it's meme magic, it's a good mashup record, it doesn't really dip it's toes into great.

It's fine. While it's a clear indication that the golden age of The Cure is long gone, it's not awful. There are some great songs here, it's well written for the most part, the playing is fine, and it's entertaining enough to keep me somewhat interested (although I will admit this is the lest engaged i've been with a Cure album ever), but there really isn't a lot here that has been done better with previous Cure records. There are no surprises, no tracks that jump out and say "I'm ... read more
It's pretty damn good. For only being played by one person, Dave somehow has got dynamic chemistry between each instrument. Each section feels unique and interesting, and that's one thing that this piece thankfully is: interesting. This could be most defiantly just a vanity project with no soul, but it obviously is a little more then that: it's a vanity project with soul to spare, and a beating heart to go along with the rhythm.
While it's not as...uh...normal (?) as System of a Down's records, but it's damn entertaining to watch Daron Malakian scream about how the universe is against him for 45 minutes straight. The instrumentation is fun and well played, and the lyrics and vocals (as over the top as they are) are extremely entertaining. And even though it does make me pine for a new System record, this is a fine replacement.

While not my favorite Cure album, I can defiantly see why people would claim this to be their favorite Cure album. It's got the inner sadness and anguish of Pornography, Faith and Seventeen Seconds, all while still managing to tie together The Cure's new found poppyness of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me and The Head On The Door. But at the same time, it's still got something to it that's completely original and interesting. It's a much more dour, slow and steady record then anything else The Cure ... read more
The promise that a Twitch streamer is going to start doing serious rock and roll doesn't really sound like the best combination, but Vinny's songwriting here is actually pretty decent. From grungy rockers to slow ballads, this album genuinely has the versatility and fun to be taken seriously, even if it's somewhat lacking production wise.

Trench goes to show that Twenty One Pilots are more then just your average emo band. Their usual mishmash of hip hop and alt rock has finally combined to create a sound that makes sense for both genres. Not only has the sound improved, but the writing, production and instrumentala have also matured and aged like fine wine, giving us some of the best written TOP songs to date. Even of sometimes it feels like there is more filler here then there really should be, it's fun, emotional, and ... read more
This album is about love. It's a ginormous, huge, overpowering, almost intimidating feeling that, if your going to talk about it depth, your going to have to talk about it for a while. And maybe sometimes this record can feel it's length by the end, (but at 18 tracks it's almost jaw-dropping how there seems to be virtually no filler) but the music here is so enjoyably fun, energetic, catchy, punchy, hard-hitting, and drop dead gorgeous at some moments that it doesn't really phase you. To some, ... read more
While the music on display is as happy and as vibrant as ever on this record, this isn't the Cure cheering up. This is in fact The Cure re-discovering that hidden sadness that was found on their other records, but now they have a much more healthy way to show that sadness. It's an album that jumps on it's broken leg with glee, and it's damn fun to listen to. As odd and fun as a Bowie record with the darkness and anxiety-filled lyrics of a Nine Inch Nails record, it's a musical dream to listen ... read more
For those yearning for more of the depressing, slow burning, harrowing and gothy elements of The Cure's previous efforts, you'll most likely be disappointed. What The Cure have here is a much happier and joyous occasion then anything from Pornography, Faith or Seventeen Seconds combined. And while for some that might not sound like the greatest, what The Cure exchange for sadness is musical experimentation, with elements of war music, world music and new wave splashed into a much more colorful ... read more
