The Cure have always alluded to a more depressing and sad world in their past records, but it's here in Pornography where we fully see that world. And my God is it a interesting world to explore. The music here is dark. The lyrics here are dark. The album, the band, the entire feeling of this wonderfully depressing and insanely sad experience is dark. And it's probably one of the more eye opening and best music listening experiences that I've had in a long time.

While it's easy to say that what Peggy is doing through Veteran is nothing more then a great noise rap record, there is something more sad, sinister, depressing and damn endearing at play here. Veteran is a look into Peggy's mind, a personal tour through every emotion known to man: Anger, pain, fear, sadness, happiness, and much more. It's well written, well produced, interesting, off the wall and absolutely insane experimental rap records that has come out in a while. It's one of the more ... read more
While sometimes Faith treds to close to Seventeen Seconds to stand out as truly unique, the record on display here sounds interesting and depressing as hell. It's an album that truly sounds suicidal in a lot of ways, and it's damn endearing.
Favorite Jams: All Cats Are Grey, Primary, Doubt
Lest Favorite: Other Voices
Crossfaith defiantly work best when they fire off on all cylinders in short doses. Their albums don't really impress (at lest for me), meanwhile their debut and Zion, they shine like angry diamonds. Corssfaiths blend of J-Pop electronica and metalcore create a fun, heavy and interesting experience, even if their sound can sound dated or un-unique at times. But, if your looking for something to angrily blast through in 30 minutes, then Crossfaith may be a name you should consider.

There is something evil about this album, at lest when compared to The Cure's debut. It's almost the album equivalent to a horror film, with a gigantic sense of dread and gloom laced in with the sparing and desperate instrumentation. If Three Imaginary Boys is the party, Seventeen Seconds is the dark, depressing hangover, and makes for a damn captivating listen.
Favorite Jams: A Forest, M, At Night
Lest Favorite: Secrets
EDIT: This review was made before I heard the rest of The Cure's discography. While I stand by my rating, this album is a bit of a black sheep in the bands discography, being the most post-punk album in the bands lineup of albums.
An extremely impressive peice of post-punk goodness from one of the more well known and possibly one of the best bands from the genre. Simple guitars backed from hard hitting drums and fantastic bass work, all to provide the backbone for Robert Smith's odd yet ... read more
My god. A relentless, destructive, obliterating, off the wall and borderline insane metal EP that will leave listeners in aftershock after listening. Mike Patton's sequels and shrieks fit perfectly into TDEP's insane and endlessly creative instrumentation, creating a sonic face punch like no other.
Favorite Jam: Pretty much everything
Lest Favorite: N/A
While it does loose some steam here and there, Tomahawk's self titled debut is a rocking, gritty and and hard hitting alt-rock record that further shows the versatility of Mike Patton and his crew of merry men.
Favorite Jams: Jockstrap, God Hates a Coward, Laredo
Lest Favorite: Cul de Sac
This is Brockhampton at their wildest, most experimental and completely unpredictable. It's both their heaviest, ugly and darkest record and their most beautiful record all in the same experience. While there are some moments that feel like filler, it's a great stepping stone into Brockhamptons hopefully more experimental and unique era of music.
Favorite Jams: HONEY, DISTRICT, J'OUVERT
Lest Favorite: LOOPHOLE
EDIT: Just saw Brockhampton play this album in it's entirety, giving this album a ... read more
At eight tracks, it's protopunk at it's finest, feeling genuinely dangerous, violent and revolutionary, even if what they are singing about isn't as dangerous as how they present themselves. Either way, it's revolution music at it's finest.
Favorite Jams: Kick Out the Jams, Starship, Ramblin' Rose
Lest Favorite: I Want You Right Now
While the listening experience is 100% better if you have seen the film, the songs here are funny, entertaining, catchy, and pretty loving love letters to vapid and emotionless pop music, presenting some pretty fun and catchy pop jams in the process.
Favorite Jams: Mona Lisa, Hunter the Hungry Is Gon’ Eat, Incredible Thoughts
Lest Favorite: Probably all the Dialogue tracks
The Lonely Island go full on, over the top, and completely off the wall on their 2013 release, parodying and satirizing everything to EDM to Bro-jams to love ballads to even sport anthems. While some of the statements and jokes here can come off as dated, it's still biting satire from one of the biggest names in music comedy.
Favorite Jams: Spring Break Anthem, Diaper Money, Hugs
Lest Favorite: I Don't Give a Honk
While at times it's better produced and better performed, The Lonely Island provide yet another funny and highly entertaining record that's got more then it's share of catchy, gross, funny and interesting jams that will stick to many listeners right off the bat.
Favorite Jams: Jack Sparrow, Motherlover, We're Back!
Lest Favorite: My Mic
While there are some songs that work better comedically then others, there's so many funny, entertaining, and downright fun love letters to everything from rap, to reggae, to overblown pop anthems, to space operas, and even jazz, it's not hard to find yourself genuinly enjoying what The Lonely Island have produced here.
Favorite Jams: Lazy Sunday, Incredibad, Boombox
Lest Favorite: Santana DVX
Lil Dicky, in terms of flow and delivery, isn't that bad of a rapper. When he puts effort and really tries, he sometimes delivers some very fun and energetic tracks. However, most of his songs just sort of exist, with the whole message being "I wanna be a REAL rapper guys! Not this joke rap stuff!" without giving anything of substance or weight to much on apart from being a joke rapper. Maybe that's the punchline, but it's not a really well told joke. The album itself is too crammed ... read more
It's a small collection of strange, nerdy, pop-culture filled post punk jams, that talks about everything from sex to identity crisis to fame to the film Jaws. At 25 minutes it doesn't overstay it's welcome, and there are solid tunes here, making this one of the better Lemon Demon releases in a long while.
Favorite Jams: Everybody Loves Raymond, My Trains, Goosebumps
Lest Favorite: Brodyquest
Metallica's debut record is as ferocious, threatening, dominating and borderline evil as Metallica ever got. The group absolutely punch your face in with ferocious riffs, intense lyrics and overbearing pace, and it's absolutely amazing to witness.
Favorite Jams: (Anesthesia) - Pulling Teeth, Whiplash, Jump In The Fire
Lest Favorite: No Remorse
While not as good as what Kevin would do with BROCKHAMPTON, Kevin's solo venture is a entertaining, interesting and eye-opening view of high school life, with the experimental R&B crooning and hip hop flair that Kevin always brings to a project. Highly entertaining.
Favorite Jams: Papercut, Miserable America, Runner
Lest Favorite: Friendship
Jack White is most definitely one of the more creative, out there and experimental guitarists around today, and it's shown in full awe and shock on his new solo record. Jack White takes as any risks here as humanly possible, taking on a David Bowie-esq persona and giving us a full tour into his mind. From rock stompers to calming interludes to strange sonic experiments, Jack White has given us possibly the most experimental major rock album of 2018.
