Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
80

It may be crazy that Black Sabbath can deliver one of the greatest metal album of all time, but it's absolutely insane that Black Sabbath here have released the second greatest metal album of all time.

Favorite Jams: Children of the Grave, Solitude, Into the Void

Lest Favorite: Embryo

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
82

Probably one of the evilest albums in existence. From the spooked out riffs to the subject matter to one of the scariest metal songs of all time, ("Black Sabbath") this album is darkness incarnate, while still being accessible and entertaining.

Favorite Jams: Black Sabbath, N.I.B., Warning

Lest Favorite: Evil Women

Anna von Hausswolff - Dead Magic
82

Do you want to listen to something catchy, party-filled and fun?! Well then don't put this album on. But if you want something completely unique, captivating, otherworldly and incredibly visceral, then this album is a must listen. Anna von Hausswolff has quickly become one of the most interesting artists in goth rock.

Favorite Jams: The Truth, The Glow, The Fall, The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra, The Marble Eye

Lest Favorite: Källans Återuppståndelse

46

Party? Party party party party. Party! partypartypartypartypartypartyparty. Party punchy, ppartypartypartyty fun, party excellently played, party party.

Favorite Party: I Get Wet, Ready To Die, PARTY Till You Puke

The Protomen - Act II: The Father of Death
40

Oof.

Favorite Jams: Here Comes The Arm, The Fall, Father of Death

Lest Favorite: Breaking Out

The Protomen - The Protomen
69

Even though for some the subject matter can be extremely "nerdy", the music displayed here, even though it's attached to the hip with the Mega Man games, is really unique and on it's own. It's a fantastic nerd-rock album that is surprisingly noisy, loud, abrasive, genre bending and all the more important: Fun as hell.

Favorite Jams: Unrest in the House of Light, The Sons of Fate, Vengeance

Lest Favorite: Funeral for a Son

Anamanaguchi - Endless Fantasy
78

It's good...but not great.

What I would consider the first 'big' release the band has put out, this album (while there are issues) delivers on what the band promised with their EP and Soundtrack releases with a splash more creativity, dash more versatility and just a lot more experimentation to keep Anamanaguchi's sound have a lot more bite to it...even if the album is kneecapped only slightly because of this.

'Endless Fantasy' is a clear step in the right direction for the band, do not get ... read more

Alice Cooper - Flush the Fashion
59

While not the greatest Alice Cooper record ever made, and it is stuffed with filler, it's still not awful. There are some moments where the new wave-y sound is quite suited on Mr Cooper, while other times it sticks as well as a ball on a ceiling.

Favorite Jams: Talk Talk, Clones (We're All), Dance Yourself To Death

Lest Favorites: Aspirin Damage

Alice Cooper - From The Inside
66

Probably the last great album that Alice Cooper put out, and this time it's around the concept of Alice Cooper literally being in the loony bin, and seeing everything from a new perspective from making insanity a joke to the joke being about him. And it makes for some damn emotional and damn entertaining music.

Favorite Jams: The Quiet Room, Serious, Inmates (We’re All Crazy)

Lest Favorites: For Veronica’s Sake

Alice Cooper - Alice Cooper Goes to Hell
64

While not as cohesive or groundbreaking as WTMN, it's still a fun and genre defining concept record, that takes us deep into Alice's physche, which of coarse takes us to the one stop everyone expected to go with Alice Cooper: Hell.

Favorite Jams: Go To Hell, Wish You Were Here, Guilty

Lest Favorite: I'm The Coolest

Alice Cooper - Welcome To My Nightmare
75

Alice Cooper, on top of the already great albums he's made, created one of the best concept albums of the 70s. That's no easy feat, but Alice Cooper manages to do it with the swagger and energy he usually has. One of my favorite Alice Cooper records.

Favorite Jams: Welcome to My Nightmare, The Black Widow, Steven

Lest Favorite: The Awakening

Alice Cooper - Lace and Whiskey
32

Note to self: If Alice Cooper says he's doing another crime noir, don't let him do it. Please for the love of GOD don't let him do it.

Favorite Jams: Road Rats? Uh....Damned If You Do?

Lest Favorite: Ubangi Stomp, My God, I Never Wrote Those Songs

Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
79

Somehow Alice Cooper maintains the strong hold on shock rock, with extra grit, dirt and strength behind the hold. It's Alice Cooper's wacked out view of the world at it's best, and it's a fantastic journey to embark on.

Favorite Jams: Hello Hooray, No More Mr. Nice Guy, I Love The Dead

Lest Favorite: Raped And Freezing

Alice Cooper - Killer
79

One of Alice Cooper's bands best records. with track after track of great energy, wacked out experimentation and creative and fun lyrics that make this one of the defining records of the 70s.

Favorite Jam: Under My Wheels, Halo Of Flies, Dead Babies

Lest Favorites: Desperado

Alice Cooper - School's Out
75

A damn solid rock and roll boogie woogie concept albums that seems to come from the darkest alleyways created with the strangest of strangers, straight from the brain of the king of shock rock. It's pretty damn good.

Favorite Jams: School's Out, Gutter Rats Vs The Jets, My Stars

Lest Favorite: Street Fight

Various Artists - Blindspotting: The Collin EP
70

An extremely solid and fun soundtrack EP features one of the best MC's right now (Daveed Diggs), who is having so much fun that at times it feels like this wasn't even created for a film. And isn't that saying something for an EP that has multiple tracks that are nothing but lines and moments from Blindspotting?

Favorite Jams: In My City, Not A Game, Something In The Water

Lest Favorite: Commander Smiley

3TEETH - 3teeth
74

Uncompromisingly dark, heavy and hugely dense industrial metal that shakes the listener to pay attention and slaps them if they aren't. But that's about it. And after all the moody destruction is over and done, there isn't a lot here. But, for the moment you click with the madness, it's glorious.

Favorite Jams: X-Day, Eradicate, Too Far Gone

Lest Favorite: Chasm

3TEETH - <shutdown.exe>
76

Dark, meanicing, in your face and has got it's fist clenched, ready to knock out anyone in it's path. It's all parts Nine Inch Nails as it is Slayer as it is Carpenter Brut. That's 3TEETH, and they are the most dark, dingy and abrasive names in industrial metal right now.

Favorite Jams: Shutdown, Atrophy, Away From Me

Lest Favorite: Tabula Umbra

Adam and the Ants - Prince Charming
78

While not as electric or memorable as any of Adam's other records, it's still got some fun singles and obvious Adam and the Ants swagger that this band is so good at.

Favorite Jams: 5 Guns West, Prince Charming, Stand And Deliver

Lest Favorite: Ant Rap

"@SamHatedSBTH Joy as an Act of Resistance is an absolute essential record, so that's probably where i'd direct a newcomer. If they like that album then its down to what they really liked from it: - If they want something more raw, go with Brutalism - If they want something more catchy, go Ultra Mono - If they loved the songwriting and emotional moments, go Crawler And once they've bounced around, TANGK is a culmination of new sounds that help the band go towards the future. Best of luck!"

"@chell_6 for me a lot of GSY!BE's work has an amazing emotional first listen but I find it hard to come back a lot of times (exceptions being Allelujah and Slow Riot). While I still love listening to this record, and adore how dense it is, now I'm more acquainted with the band and Post-Rock music, it just didn't feel right to have at a 100. Still, a great album!"

"Honestly it's got some of their better poppier stuff in a little bit (at least since Cool Patrol which has now dawned on me came out 6 years ago) but going back to the Strawberries And Cream era writing is a choice. Kinda wished that they stuck with the Prog Band about Dick Jokes they carved out on The Prophecy honestly"
