You know what, fuck it, y'all are too mean to this album! Is it as good as their best? No, but that being said, most albums aren't. Radiohead are one of those bands that succeeds even when they fail, and if this is the worst the band gets? Then they truly are fantastic.
Favorite Jams: Stop Whispering, Blow Out, You
Lest Favorite: Thinking About You
At times a surprisingly somber, down to earth and at times heart-wrenching album that really looks deep into Post's life in tragic ways, and other times yet another fun, summer jam fest of an album. It can be a bit bloated at times, with some track listing problems (Jonestown should have been the opener damn it.) but it's still an impressive album from one of RnB's most accessible figures.
Favorite Jams: Over Now, Better Now, Stay
Lest Favorite: Ball For Me
What is there to say that hasn't been said about Dark Side of the Goddamn Moon? It's a classic, in not only prog-rock, but it helped pioneer pretty much every genre known to man, creating one of the most unique listening experiences...possibly ever. Essential listening.
Favorite Jams: Us And Them, The Great Gig in The Sky, Brain Damage
Lest Favorite: On The Run
While not the weirdest, experimental or strangest that Floyd have gotten, it's probably the most captivating, unique, and completely them, while still somehow being able to make their 10 minute + epics accessable, interesting, and gorgeous all the way through, with a concept album so tight and well ochestrated, you'll be reminded time and time again why Pink Floyd are the rock monsters that they are.
Favorite Tracks: Sheep, Pigs (Three Different Ones), Dogs
Lest Favorite: Pigs on the Wing ... read more
An endlessly creative, mind-expanding, prog-rock monster that absolutely destroys everything in it's path, creating sweet melody's and captivating playing to push not only rock, but music in general. And that's just the first song.
Favorite Jams: 2112, A Passage to Bangkok, The Twilight Zone
Lest Favorite: Something for Nothing
Loud, heavy, fast, to the point, aggressive, fragile, surprisingly catchy, rowdy, expertly played, intense, quiet, interesting, energetic, hardcore, softcore, crazy, intellectual, arty, fun, fun, fun. These are multiple words to describe Idles absolutely fantastic debut album, and one of the best punk albums to come out in perhaps the last decade.
Favorite Jams: Mother, Well Done, Stendhal Sundrome
Lest Favorite: Benzocaine
Saying that Micheal Jackson is the king of catchy party jams in 2018 is like saying the sky is blue. While at some points the funky, dance-infused pop rock gets tiring, it's still one of the greatest party albums of all time, with some tunes sticking in your head until the day you will die.
Favorite Jams: Rock With You, Workin' Day and Night, Get On The Floor
Lest Favorite: I Can't Help It
Probably one the greatest things Fall Out Boy have ever done, and it's completely off the wall (for Fall Out Boy). It's pop punk at it's punkiest, and it's goddamn great. For Fall Out Boy at lest.
Favorite Jams: Love, Sex, Death, Hot To The Touch, Cold On The Inside, We Were Doomed From The Start (The King Is Dead)
Lest Favorite: American Made
A chaotic, crazy, explosive and off the wall metal album that pushes the already spacious boundary's of the punk/metal genre, combined with some quieter moments that give a lovely juxtaposition withen this package. A great debut.
Favorite Jams: Liars // Trudge, Calm // Breath, Colors (Into Nothing)
Lest Favorite: Sleep (I've Been Slipping)
A genre bender to say the very lest, Gorillaz are at peak creativity with an album that will not only amaze hip-hop heads, but will amaze, rock dwellers, pop divas and alternative weirdos. There's something in this album for everyone, and it's one of the best albums of the 2000s.
Favorite jams: Kids With Guns, Dare, Dirty Harry
Lest Favorite: Demon Days
While there really isn't enough Gorillaz on this Gorillaz album, there is some interesting ideas and fun sounds at play here, feeling more like the worlds darkest party banger album then the comeback many were expecting.
Favorite jams: Momentz, Charger, Ascension
Lest Favorite: Sex Murder Party
While the writing is something to be desired, Royal Blood provide yet another solid record in their ever growing hard rock, fun as hell, catchy and all in all great discography.
Favorite jams: How Did We Get So Dark, Hook, Line & Sinker, Where Are You Know?
Lest Favorite: Don't Tell
EDIT: There was a moment in time where I didn't know what Lightning Bolt or Death from Above was. This is the effect of not knowing those things.
Politically charged? Check. Explosive as hell? Check. Exquisitely played? Check. Heavy as sin? Check. Fun, engaging, entertaining and ruthless as all hell? Double check.
Favorite jams: Know Your Enemy, Wake Up, Freedom
Lest Favorite: Settle for Nothing
An insanely entertaining and well polished debut, with songs that will most certainly be stuck in your head for weeks and weeks to come. And that's pretty impressive coming from one of rocks new big titans.
Favorite jams: Out Of The Black, Ten Tonne Skeleton, Loose Change
Lest favorite: Better Strangers
It's an album verging on self destruction. It's an album that relishes in the strange, the nonsensical, and the odd. It's an album that's one of the darkest, saddest, most harrowing statements Nirvana have ever made, and it's a statement that still rings horribly true. It's a self destruction album, by definition.
Favorite jams: Very Ape, Tourette's, Heart Shaped Box
Lest Favorite: Dumb
You know what this album is. You know the singles, you know the deep cuts, you know the whole thing back to front. You know the heavy, loud, and crazy energetic bangers. You know the more quiet, subdue moments. You know the ferocious drumming, the fierce bass work, the screaming guitars, and the harrowing vocals. You know it because it's Nirvana, and it's one of the greatest albums of the 90s.
Favorite Jams: Endless, Nameless, Breed, Territorial Pissings
Lest Favorite: Polly
An often under looked or unappreciated collection of tunes, that house some of MCR's best Post-Black Parade tracks. If your looking for your next mascara wearing album to listen to, look no further then the best album My Chemical Romance never made.
Favorite jams: Boy Division, The Light Behind Your Eyes, Tomorrows Money
Lest favorite: Surrender the Night
While it's not the return to form that many were expecting (much like the last record), it's still a welcome and kick-ass collection of tunes that shakes the formula of Nine Inch Nails even further then even the band could expect.
Favorite jams: Less Than, This Isn't The Place, Not Anymore
Lest favorite: The Background World
