Yup this is top notch... grand, filled with layers and layers of textured instruments... takes its own time to build post rock and somewhat classical sounding and smacks you with an influx of instrumental bliss... and even doesn't overstays its welcome, only stays at a certain segment of a instrumental palette for a required time and switches up with different instrumental palette... An amazing experience overall filled with devastation and colour...
how dare you use ichiko aoba album art with this ear torture
Really love this... one of the best songwriting and poetic batch of songs of 2000s
it does feel pretty scant at moments... the minimal moments here doesn't always translates
damn this is so raw and funky... just wish that Riot was longer, it's so powerful of a song... songs here are pretty enjoyable
i don't like this a lot... i gave it enough tries but still it sounds bit boring to some extent to enjoy as an album experience and sit through whole album all time... good songs here and there yet not every song strikes me...
soulful little batch of songs, bit weaker than last album but still features one of his most funky and soulful songs... it's pretty great for casual listen...
ngl it's pretty soothing even if it's filled with demos and incomplete songs
WOW... This one hits!!!
Such a wonderland of sea of samples layered on top of each other creating such a soulful, danceable, groovy and crispy production hard to even have it possible even using live instruments... The songs here have deep layers of strings wherever present, groovy drums with such a heavy bass whenever needed (look at electricity for example, it's so groovy, the bassline is awesome, one of my fav bassline of all time...)
From disco type danceable songs like radio (most daft ... read more
not a bad album by any means, i do love few songs here and there but the production choices, reverb on her voice and atmosphere of many tracks sounds stale and bit "plastic-like"... okayish listening experience with yeah good songs here and there too, but it could have been so much better than what it is as of right now...
this is so beautiful... I don't return to it as much as i would have expected but whenever i listen to it, i feel like the album art...
love the shoegaze, lo-fi and post-hardcore rock fusion...
Love this so much, so heavenly, so textured, such a great show of production, simple yet just enough and not trying too hard and letting the music flow, heavenly multilayered singing with awesome harmonies...
Bangers after banger... much more dense and richer instrumentals than their past albums... no deep low points... much more conceptually tied than cavalcade...
i do like it but the melodies are less interesting than what u would have heard on teen dream... definitely a step down plus the ideas are pretty repetitive as you already have heard most of the ideas in beach house albums before this many times, the album just brings out more instrumental depth but still not enough to overcome the low points... But still, it has few of my favourite beach house songs like myth, wild and on the sea... still I come back to it only because of these 3 songs... do ... read more
It has shrunk on me with time but still a great album... the melodies and light chord and keys are so floaty... even the drums feel so light and dreamy..one of my fav dream pop album
most of it is filled with detours and kinda bland at points but has few good songs; Trouble in Town, Arabesque, Champion of the World and Everyday Life...
