“CLPPNG” goes for a more traditional style but it keeps the glitchiness and noise from their debut intact. The production is unique, Daveed Diggs’ flows are great and the lyrics are very well-written.

Amazing
clipping.’s debut album is noisy, abrasive and oh-so raw while also being consistent and fun to listen to. Daveed Diggs’ flows are great here and “midcity” is a very interesting project overall. The lyrics could use some work, though.

“Vulnicura” is a gorgeously written, exquisitely produced and cohesive return to form for Björk that’s also so heartbreaking it actually made me shed a few tears!

I know Lil Xan’s pretty much fallen off the grid at this point so let’s not beat a dead horse.
Instead, let’s beat a dead horse!
He looks like 2-D from Gorillaz if Murdoc gave him too many opioids. At least 2-D is 10x more intelligent than this cartoony piece of shit.

It’s a little better than “Day69” and both Kanye West features are fun. But “Dummy Boy” is still a terrible release with uninteresting trap production, terrible lyrics and obnoxious vocals.

Wow... wow... WOW!!! I mean, it’s only 25 minutes of material. But holy shit those 25 minutes are freaking blissful! The lyricism is great, the looping, old-school production is phenomenal and the themes are dark as hell. Overall, this is Earl Sweatshirt’s best work to date and arguably one of the best rap albums of the year!

Holy fuck this is some depressing shit! Earl’s verses are very well-written, the features are really good and the production sets the mood for the album perfectly! Overall, “I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside” is a big stepping stone for Earl Sweatshirt.

Outstanding
“Doris” is a great hip hop album with smart, poignant writing, great performances and flows from Earl and solid features. The “Odd Future” production hasn’t aged that well but it mostly gets the job done here.

Awesome
While it’s still a little flawed, “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships” is a surprising step up in quality for The 1975 (Most of the singles actually grew on me). There’s a lot more substance here while also delivering great production, smart writing and hooks galore! Sure, a couple of tracks are pretty terrible but the highs are so goddamn high (and by that I mean a great majority of the tracks on here) that I’ll let it get away with a better score than I ... read more
“Feels” dials everything that made Animal Collective’s past albums great up to 11 with more beautiful production and outstanding instrumental arrangements. It's also the most personal and emotionally resonant record in their discography, making it one of their standout records in my opinion.
Edit: This just keeps growing and growing the more I listen to it!

Okay, I’m not even into flamenco and I don’t speak Spanish so I’m not gonna pretend I understand what she’s saying. But “El Mal Querer” really got me hooked. It mixes “typical” flamenco with modern pop and R&B and both the outstanding production and ROSALÍA’s amazing voice bring this album to life so beautifully! It’s unexpectedly one of my favorites of the year!

Good
It’s an improvement over its predecessor, as it’s a lot more exciting and emotionally-investing of an album, but it’s still not up to snuff with other works. The recording is still poor and there are spots where it meanders a bit, but there are some damn great tracks here.

Decent
For an album that sounds like it was made on an apple (the fruit), this is alright. There are some hints of good songwriting here. But it feels like a hodgepodge of experiments rather than a cohesive listen. The recording quality also kinda dumbs down the listening experience, which is quite rare for Car Seat Headrest these days.

Dammit Björk! I know you’re impatient for Christmas but you didn’t have to be an ornament this early!
Anyway, “Volta” is a return to form for Björk. It has some unexpectedly poppy moments too (which explains the Timbaland feature). Unfortunately, it also has ideas that could’ve been executed a lot better.

Fine
On “Medulla”, Björk ditches the electronics in favor of actual human sounds. Synthesizers are replaced with harmonies, drum machines are replaced with beatboxing, bass is replaced with throat sounds, etc. These elements are also edited with reckless abandon. It’s a very bold and fun concept that works so damn well here and Björk’s vocals and songwriting are uncompromised as usual.
