If I’m Being Honest (buh-dum tss) with myself, I love dodie’s videos! I would always watch a video or listen to a song she wrote when I’m feeling down. That’s why “Human” made me smile. Her voice is angelic and her lyrics always resonate with me. It’s nothing special but it works well enough and I would be happy to listen to it again.

When I heard “Seventeen” for the first time before coming into this record, I knew I was in for a treat! The rest of “Remind Me Tomorrow” shares pretty much everything from that track. “Assume Form” is the most beautiful, complete and accessible record James Blake has put out to date! The features are unexpectedly impeccable here (especially ROSALÍA and André 3000), James is growing so much more confident in his vocals, melodies and writing and there’s not a single song here that I legitimately don’t love! “Teens Of Denial” shouldn’t just be regarded an important album for Car Seat Headrest, it should be regarded as an important album for indie rock music of the 2010’s in general. Will Toledo puts so much of his heart and soul into both his songwriting and his performances. Our favorite furry and his friends finally got signed into a record label! That means we get remakes of early Car Seat Headrest songs! The compositions are a lot tighter and the sound is much better than their original versions while still keeping with their lo-fi roots. Hideo Kojima will be inspired by this one day...

Honestly, this is one of the more underrated albums in David Bowie’s discography. I think “Diamond Dogs” is important because it concluded his glam rock style in such a well-executed fashion! The post-apocalyptic style is intriguing, the tracks flow very seamlessly and it has some of Bowie’s best singing!

It’s short but I don’t really care to fault this record, honestly. These are very pretty and heartwarming acoustic tunes that just make me want to lay in bed, cuddle with my pillow and close my eyes as these “lullabies” drift me off to sleep.

For a b-side, this is actually pretty and meticulously-crafted. I don’t think I would’ve minded if this was on “AMSP”. Though at the same time, this isn’t as heavy on the heart as the majority of that album.

Avey Tare’s melodies are always great and they translate well here. But the effects wash out the otherwise decent instrumentation and it can get drab at certain points.

Honestly, I think this album is pretty underrated. Sure, it’s a change in direction from “Merrieweather Post Pavilion”. But I think this new sound still plays to AnCo’s strengths with beautiful, psychedelic production, tight songwriting, enticing rhythms and a great sense of melody throughout!
