"Beyondless" is a more accessible album, but it never stops being adventurous. Something that Iceage thrives on.

Awesome
Produced by Julian Casablancas, who even signed The Growlers onto Cult Records and features on the record, "City Club" is a groovy, danceable and solidly-produced record that kinda dips during the lower half, with "World Unglued" being a complete mess and the aforementioned Casablancas feature coming off as disappointing.

Good
The Strokes put together a mixed bag of an EP that showcases what's supposedly the band in the "Future Present Past". The most consistently good song on here is "Threat of Joy", as it sounds like a past Strokes song, despite the unusually simple chord progression. "Oblivious" is sort of a cool and over-the-top track as well, but it suffers from a few more questionable performances and simplified guitar riffs. "Drag Queen", however, is a distracting new ... read more
"Comedown Machine" feels like a Strokes record, it sounds like a Strokes record, but what's missing? It supplies us with a few great songs. "Tap Out" is one of their most danceable songs, "One Way Trigger" is a mellow cut with Julian supplying some cool, albeit rough, falsetto vocals and "Welcome to Japan" is groovy and lovably cheesy. The first few songs are some damn great Strokes songs, but the record takes a HUGE nosedive after that as the tracklist ... read more
UPDATE (OG Score: 6.9): I thought there wasn't a chance that this album would grow on me, but here I am.
"beerbongs & bentleys" is a huge step up from Post Malone's previous works in every single way! His pen game, while not amazing, has a lot more character, his vocal performances and melodies are damn impressive, the hooks are outstanding and the production, while trendy, is solid throughout. There are a few songs that could've been dumped, but the highs on this album are high ... read more
Nearing the end of a hiatus for The Strokes, Julian Casablancas puts together the solo record of his dreams. "Phrazes for the Young" is an outstanding synthpop record with all the 80's new wave nostalgia you could want. The production is great, the choruses are as catchy as you'd want them in a Strokes-related release, I love Jules’ vocals on here and there are a great deal of clever lines here ("I live on the frozen surface of a fireball"). I just wish there was ... read more
I'm a weird person. I see a weird name and I click on it. Despite the dated meme, I really enjoyed what Let's Eat Grandma is doing on their impressive debut. It's not entirely consistent, but it's impressive how a duo of teenage girls can make such experimental music!

"Angles" sees The Strokes going for a new sound. They don't really know what sound to go for, though, so they try to experiment. The base sound, however, is their old sound combined with bucketloads of new wave inspiration. While the results are a bit disjointed, we still got a great record here! The production is as raw as ever, the instrumentation is fantastic, Julian's vocals are great and "Angles" contains a lot of their greatest songs! Definitely an underrated record ... read more
Billy Joe Armstrong's still making music and I'm proud of that. But this feels too generic, brief, repetitive, and underwritten.

Okay
"First Impressions of Earth" came with so much promise behind it. The Strokes tried to go for a fuller, heavier sound from their first two records and it definitely sounds excellent. The instrumentation and production is great and it contains some of the band's best songs. The first four are great runner-ups for classic Strokes songs, "Vision of Division" is the heaviest song on here with one of their best guitar solos and "Red Light" is an introspective and ... read more
"The Bones of What You Believe" is a catchy, beautifully-produced debut from CHVRCHES. Lauren Mayberry's girlish vocals are great, the hooks are infectious and it's just an impressive and (mostly) consistent synthpop record, overall.

Franz Ferdinand seems to be losing their spark on "Always Ascending". There's a lot of fun to be had and the production is infectious. But the lyrics are lame, Alex's performance is downright awkward and most of the record is samey and has been done better on their previous efforts.

Okay
"Dead Magic" is a haunting fever dream into hell. Anna von Hausswolff's vocals are powerful, the compositions and arrangements are astonishing and the atmosphere is truly haunting. My only real criticism is that the last two tracks don't have the same intensity as the first three, but they're still pretty great.

While it continues to play it safe, "Maladroit" is an improvement on the "Green Album" in many ways. The lyrics, though average, are better, the instrumentation is a lot more dynamic, the riffs and solos are great and the overall quality of the songs have improved. Overall, this is one of Weezer's most underrated albums.

Amazing
[My 100th Rating!!!]
"Since I Left You" shows how amazingly sample-based music could be done! This record doesn't contain hundreds of samples, it contains THOUSANDS of samples! Every single one of those samples is placed carefully onto this record and it all amounts to one of the most beautiful, dense and flowing electronic records I've ever heard! Overall, this is a goddamn masterpiece of plunderphonics!

I took a lot of time to review this album because I initially went into 'Sex & Food' with the wrong mind set. A couple of listens later, I can confirm that this is a politically fun album with a few minor shortcomings.
