Coming from Boston, Massachusetts (YUS!!!), Passion Pit has a bunch of surprises up their sleeves. Delivering enough catchy, melodic, and well-produced songs about love. Michael Angelakos' voice can be grating at times, though.

Great
Sexy and political, futuristic yet current, and lyrically ingenious. “Dirty Computer” continues Janelle Monáe’s already consistent discography with her poppiest album yet.

Awesome
I just came across this and I was like "What the hell? I'm gonna check this out!". To my surprise, this was a really good folk album with great vocals from Laura Marling, beautiful, ambient production, and awesome, creative music videos. Just look at that lump go! It's short but sweet!

Very Good
This is probably one of his best tracks to date! It also harkens back to his experimental, dubstep influenced roots with chopped vocals and arresting, pretty sounds.
It's bonkers, it's poppy, it's catchy, it's inventive, it's fucking insane and I like it a lot! Yeah, sure, it's more pop-centric than any of her previous records, but who gives a damn? The production on here is superb, with tons more emphasis on percussion, guitars and bass than usual. Plus, her voice is still there and more matured than ever, yet it still feels as alien as this album art. I know it kind of seems like I'm defending in an argument that has stopped years ago, so I'll just leave ... read more
Despite a few endearing moments, Adam Young still refuses to evolve his sound and quite a few of these songs are outright horrible. Plus, it's really bloated. REALLY bloated!

Liam Gallagher has a safer sound than his brother and some of the writing is pretty bad. But there's some hardcore Liam Gallagher shit here.

"Wide Awake!" is danceable as all hell! But it also deals with very difficult political themes with such well-written and extremely thoughtful grace! Overall, this album is just fucking great and one of the best listening experiences I've had all year!

While the last leg of songs on "Saved" are a bit underwhelming, the production is outstanding, the melodies are sweet and the writing is pretty decent, making for some cool jams to put on while driving. Maybe bring a few hot dogs with you.

This is an extremely fun and infectious album from an artist with a great falsetto voice. There's not a song on here that I hate and it has solid, ear-warm production throughout!

These are pretty well-constructed instrumentals and this is a nice build up to Jenny Death. But it just feels so... empty without MC Ride on the mic.

Out of all the albums that have helped me through my life, I've never mentioned a single "emo" record. So, as the emo hipster whatever I am, I should review "The Black Parade". Like "Twin Fantasy" or "OK Computer", this record has impacted me a lot. I have a red streak in the front of my hair, but that's just a cosmetic change rather than an important one.
The concept of "The Black Parade" revolves around the experiences of a cancer ... read more
Arctic Monkey's debut, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not", showcases Alex Turner's witty songwriting and instrumentation as well as being catchy as all hell.

Holy crap! I forgot about Albert!
Anyway, his solo debut presents his signature guitar work and his surprisingly good voice. While it's short, the production and instrumentation is solid. A few of these tracks sound a lot like The Strokes, too (I'm sorry, I just love The Strokes :D)!

The production is pretty great, Lauren Mayberry's vocals are better than ever and the hooks are quite catchy. However, it feels like they're watering themselves down, appealing more and more to a bigger audience while keeping their original sound intact with no changes from their norm. Overall, "Love Is Dead" proves that CHVRCHES need to step up their game because they're beginning to sound less and less inspired.

Sonically and conceptually, "The Dark Side of the Moon" is one of the greatest albums ever made. Everything about this album is detailed, rich, haunting, beautiful, fuck it, every adjective! I want to go more into detail about this album, but that would spoil too much! There is something I want to confess, though. Despite being their most iconic work, I wouldn't say this is Pink Floyd's best work.

Don't judge this album by how abysmal the cover art is. The production is fantastic, the hooks are sharp and most of the sounds that they play with, aside from "The World", are pretty damn creative.

Squarepusher has some really great ideas on this little dream project of his. I actually really like some of the songs on here, but it's such a shame that the mixing is too horrid to bring these songs to life.

Okay
"Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino" is very alienating at first listen. But give it a few more listens and you just might like this as the way it is, a smartly constructed psychedelic pop album. Alex Turner's lyrics are as witty as ever and I think his vocals actually blend well with the beautiful, 70's style production. Overall, this grew on me a lot since it came out and I think this is an underappreciated record.
