I was about to shut this Alanis Morisstte-does-twigs shit show down, but the lady proved the first track is not representative of the rest, the others benefitting from subdued vocals and 'exotic' production.
I was drawn in but fell asleep. I can't help but think she's still struggling to find her own sound, but this album makes a good case for further industry investment.
Getting a lot of different vibes on this one--from Aphex to Lights; DJ Koze to Imogen Heap. I even hear a little Stott and Hopkins, but it all distills to a KLO signature sound.
Only complaint is that Arpeggi doesn't fully play on the chords and progressions that made the second half of Radiohead's best track flourish and so it feels unimportant and "nice".
