Lana compiles genuinely interesting self-important sentiments backed by Jack Ant's sometimes drab, sometimes poignant production. My expectations were low, but some entries were surprisingly captivating and there were far fewer millenialisms than in her last album, which made for unbothered listening.
I jokingly compared Lana D to Lena D in my last review, but recent events have potentially damned her to that comparison. Somehow I listened agnostically to her persona(e) for the entirety of ... read more
Her producers have been working hard through the virus. Taylor? Not so much.
These recent 2 singles are immaculate compared to Assume Form. He's traded (most of his) experimentation for beautification and there's no turning back... and I'm ok with that.
White Guilt, while the sole motor for change in America, is the only reason this album is considered "better" than GKMC. Kind of embarrassing for some of yall...
Living room surf rock that hits all the right buttons and 4 of the coolest babysitters you'll ever meet!
This shit was made for suburban white Floridian high schoolers. "No dude.. it's trap that makes you THINK"
Fuck me, I guess
I’m done trying to like this, clearly either I see through this and I’m the only one, or I’m missing the point completely. Either way I can’t stand this
*The following is a bunch of ranting so don’t take it too seriously*
The mix is ass. The mix is so ass that it makes the song completely unlistenable. I don’t care if a few ideas were cool, the fuck it approach to mashing it up over awful and overly fucked up vocals makes it impossible to make it past 20 ... read more
These neo-boom bap beats are getting old. So are Killer Mike and El-P. More music made for the semi-conscious white dude who thinks he's "invited to the barbecue" because he goes on r/hiphopheads
They've gone from pretentious pop to an eclectic but unhealthy mix of adult alternative electropop and pop rock. Don't hate these Brits but they've given me nothing to praise...
You're lying to yourself if you think this is better than Dedicated, but even more so than her last round of b-sides, this shows off an impressive back catalog still in development. Keep em coming, girl!
Solidifying that she's not musically worth a damn after Bradley Cooper sukked on her tiddy's in a cowboy hat, Gaga comes out with the least forward-thinking pop music of the new decade... and of the last.

I started bottoming and this album got better? We still do not stan Joanne. however
If he would take the instrumental experimentation of 'Conveyor', confine it to the conventionality of 'Bless Me', sing *even* less and cut out those laughable interludes, he could create a great art pop album instead of this tired neo-folk-but-larger-than-genre fanfare.
He's a mediocre writer and a misguided singer. But he is not a bad composer, let's get that straight (no pun intended).
A striking difference from when I saw him at the Drunken Unicorn... listening in the background, first half was... predictable, second was compositionally interesting, but all of it was overproduced.
Not interested in relistening as his personality was basically undetectable. Yall really get mad about the thought of AI generating music, but that's basically what happens when artists like Perfume Genius or Moses Sumney get positive critical reception and then abandon their original sound to ... read more
