LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: No Hard Feelings
I've been really excited for this one. I actually avoided all the singles for it though so I can go in completely blind. I liked Wolf Alice's past work but didn't find them that impressive. Blue Weekend is the most mature sound from the group and an incredible showcase of the band's talent.
This album is all about buildup. Every song is really just building to a big moment. The build on Delicious Things is ... read more

This is a project I’m very, very passionate about. And this may read more as a rant so if that’s not your style, ignore this.
I genuinely believe Bay Faction’s self titled is one of the best pieces of indie rock released in the past ten years. This EP is truly a hidden gem. I’m not entirely sure how I found it, it just appeared in my life one day. The day I heard Sasquatch .22 my life was changed forever.

Before listening to Nurture, I really wanted to check this one out. I've never even heard of Porter Robinson before coming on this site so I was excited to see what all the fuss was about for his work.
I like this a lot. It's pretty lively and fun. Goodbye to a World and Years of War are super imaginative. This album is super immersive, but it can be a little overbearing at times. Divinity and Sad Machine feel a little on the ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: The Jaw of Diogenes
I know a lot of this is just messing around with sound but the mixing on this is genuinely really good and fun. New Boot Goofin' 69420 Hell Mix is just a really enticing and charming song. And Fuzz Murderer Instrumental is crazy good. Definitely check this one !!

So Lagoona Bloo is a New York City drag queen. She's in the group Stephanie's Child with Drag Race alumni Jan and Rosé and Lagoona is actually featured in an episode of Nailed It which is really funny for some reason. What makes Lagoona different from a lot of other Drag musicians is there is no comedy in this- it is a serious pop EP.
Aqua is a very standard pop album. It's very focused on vocals which is a good ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Fiction
Lights at the Ends of Tunnels is a shoegaze album that’s pretty good. It’s a little sloppy sometimes, with the vocals being almost indistinguishable at times like on All For Nothing. But the solid guitar riffs keep this album afloat, like on Strangers. Limbo and Talking in Circles have the vocals taking a front seat and I really enjoy that sound as the vocals on this, when they aren’t covered by the guitar, are really good. ... read more
What sucks is that this genuinely has potential. I would love to hear a scream-scene inspired project from Denzel Curry. And the bridge in the beat of this hero-inspired guitar riff was pretty good. but this is just executed.... so poorly. The beat is ridiculous for the most part and the screaming sounds like a joke. Denzel Curry sounds crazy on this and not in the fun way. Really disappointing.
FAVORITE TRACK: Amour plastique
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Euphories
Euphories is a super lively French pop album. The combination of cute pop with the retro sounding techno helps create a really fun project. Not the most innovative indie pop project ever, but it's well-performed and happy with stories of romance. The vocals are great on Enfance 80 over the 80s-inspired beat. Amour plastique also has incredible vocals that makes the cute song much more meaningful. the male singer on this album is ... read more

I listened to this album high and really wish I didn't.
IRA is a tight and terrifying experience. It sounds like what it feels like to be chased. ashes sounds like you're running away from... something. ojos is scary, it sounds like a long hallway that feels like no end is near. Some of these tracks are fully instrumental, but I prefer the songs with vocals. Iosonouncane and the feminine choir used throughout this record really highlight ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Little Wonder
This is so bad it's almost impressive. I've never seen an album be so out of touch with their audience or past music. The production on this is laughable and generic and the drum machine beat on Little Wonder is so terrible my jaw dropped
FAVORITE TRACK: Nancy From Now On
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Tee Pees 1-12
A great debut album from FJM. The songwriting on this is perfection and a good catalyst for the amazing writing shown later in his career. Only Son of the Ladiesman and I'm Writing a Novel have some of his best lyrics of his career. Hollywood Forever Cemetery and Nancy From Now On are both dangerously catchy.
FAVORITE TRACK: The Feeling's There
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Bells
Not Quite Junk is an instrumental EP leading up to Death By Indie's debut release. I'm not a big fan of instrumental music to begin with and this isn't done great so I really don't like this. It's very sloppy and unpolished. If this had vocals, though, I think it would be pretty good.
FAVORITE TRACK: Daybreak
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Jazzy Jake
Junk! is a punk/indie album from Delaware group Death By Indie. It's very DIY sounding- which is a sound I find very difficult to pull off. It's very obvious that this is inspired by other DIY groups like Sonic Youth on tracks like The snallygaster Cometh and Patti. I love the vocals of Daybreak.I also love the guitar breakdown on Educated People Become Punks. The more surf inspired sound of Louie's Snocones works for the group well. ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Jory I
This is unlike anything I've heard in a very long time. Maybe ever. Private Reasons is a pretty instrumentally based psychedelic album. It's light-hearted and exotic and combines some really weird aspects together. Far Beneath Your View is an incredibly building electronic song. A lot of the fully instrumental tracks sound like music from old Disney movies. Little Season II really stood out to me in that aspect. Recife is fun and ... read more

So I was going to review Ken M's S/T, however, I can't find it anywhere. So I decided to check out Climb. Climb is extremely depressing. But it's also extremely cathartic because of it.
Hospital's pretty and upbeat instrumental works really well to counter the lyrics of "I'm not gonna get better" and lyrics of the sort. It's catchy but the carefree mix with the depressing lyrics really drives home a message. The electronic ... read more

I wish I liked this album more than I did. There's a lot of great aspects about this new Sweet Trip record. However, there's so much going on at once you kind of lose everything. The aspect of shoegaze on this is great. Eave Foolery Mill Five and Snow Purple Treasures. The low vocals over the sparkly guitars are very pretty. You is an incredibly groovy track with a great guitar. The electronic aspect on this record is very enticing, ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Little Child
With The Beatles stays intact with The Beatles more formulaic, teeny-bopper sound. Most people I notice, especially critics, prefer the more psychedelic sound of later Beatles. I agree with that- but I don’t think the more traditional pop sound is bad for the band. I find With The Beatles fun and catchy for half while the other half is just very boring. The songwriting is basic for love songs, but they're ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: How A Song Should Go
Glitterer is the solo project of Title Fight's Ned Russian. Life Is Not A Lesson has a very vintage sound to it.I t's a very in-your-face record with Russian vocals being like a punch over the grunge sounding guitars. The vocals are the best part of this record with songs like Bodies and Are You Sure? having a 90s sound to it that completely elevates it.
My main complaint with this record is that every song sounds very ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Lee
Blackaby is an indie rock artist, in case the cover and the name "Blackaby" doesn't make that obvious enough.
Everything's Delicious is a pretty average indie EP with above-average vocals. The vocals on this completely save the project. Blackaby is a very talented singer. The guitar on No Long Grass and Warm and Sweet is good, though. Sweet Lemonade and WStevenson have great vocals even though they are somewhat forgettable.
FAVORITE TRACK: Sad React
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Bleib Wo Du Bist
Emperor X is a lo-fi/electronica artist. This EP is not really that.
The first two tracks on these are really good. Sad React has funny lyrics with a really catchy instrumental. The lyrics are stupid but the song is light-hearted and has really good vocals.Hey, Where Did You Put My Stimulus Check? has really good instrumentals, combining this light hearted piano with a good guitar to touch on a pretty serious topic about those ... read more
