FAVORITE TRACK: Control
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None !
This is Mannequin Pussy's best work to date. I've been following this band for years now and I'm genuinely blown away by how stellar this is. The traditional punk sound on this is great on Perfect and Pigs is Pigs. The vocals are wonderful on Control. Both To Lose You and Control combine Marisa Dabice's edgy voice with a power-chorded guitar to create these great indie punk tracks. Even Darling, the black sheep of the EP, is great with its ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: 1 step forward. 3 steps back
Let me tell you, I am an 18 year old girl from suburban New Jersey. If this album caters to anyone on this stupid site, it's me. I really liked this. It's immature at times, sure, but god dammit that's what growing up is !!! This album is emotional, personal and it's essentially just Rodrigo working out her problems. And if you're a teenage girl, you get every word.
brutal is fucking rad. The guitar on it is dope. I ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Hero
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Beginning of the End
Please daddy.
I mean there's an effort, sure. This isn't a dramatic change in sound for Weezer and it's really not bad for the most part. The power-chorded guitar works to create a fun and campy record, with tracks like Hero, The End of the Game and All the Good Ones. I think Cuomo's vocals sound fine on this. He does add to tracks like I Need Some of That and Precious Metal Girl, but the standout on this is obviously the ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: i just want you cause you’re gone
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: ...
I saw this one at a record store today and I really regret not picking it up.
Spoon is a soft and endearing indie rock album. It’s very similar to artists like Stella Donnelly and Hayley Heynderickx, which I would say is the biggest flaw of the record. Coral sounds too similar to her sisters in the genre; however, the vocals on this are warm and pretty like on sorri not sorri and i just want you cause ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: R.D.C.
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Folia
I don't think this record is bad. However, in a year where British post-punk is this strong, you have to be one of the greats to stand out. This album gets kinda redundant at times compared to albums like Squid or Shame or BCNR who all put out spectacular post-punk releases. This album is dark and has great instrumentals at times like on Conveyor, Impostor and R.D.C. But it just feels like it got lost in the pool of great post-punk this year.
FAVORITE TRACK: 8 Bit Human
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Dark Heart
In all honesty, I just do not like the genre of indietronica. Most of the albums I know from it aren't that good and this really isn't any exception. There's a lot of good concepts on this- especially the track 8 Bit Human- I just feel none of it is executed to its best point. The vocals are nothing special and the album feels a little too monotone at times to stand out.
FAVORITE TRACK: Scuba Diver
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Middle of the Ocean
Well, it's significantly better than the last EP. It's just not my cup of tea vocal-wise.
FAVORITE TRACK: The Last Longing
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Rocket of Your Dream
The production on this really just ruins the projects. The vocals aren't my favorite either. I think at times there is promise though in the instrumentals and the lyrics are nice, it's just the vocals are not great.
Sorry man I just really don't like this.
FAVORITE TRACK: Like a Stone
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Materialistic
I really liked this record. I love the mix of the country twang with the traditional power-pop sound. I think the lad vocalist sounds great on this and brings life to these songs with her charm. She has a whiny voice that sounds familiar to midwest emo but works with this faintly country sound. These songs sound nostalgic, with tracks like Out Loud sounding like a song that would be in a 2000s movie. Odds Are and Clock have this ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Tangerine
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: White Walls
So first three tracks, I was thinking how similar this is to Barrie and Jay Som and other acts in the genre. It wasn't bad because Steady Holiday is so damn charming but the tracks were somewhat forgettable. But I would say around Living Life, the album really picks up. The lyrics of Living Life are some of my favorite on the whole album. This ladder half of the album just feels so much more involved and personal than the first half. ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Unscrew
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: The Sun
This has a lot of promise, but I feel the middle lacks the energy the first and last track have. The concept is definitely there, it just needs to be more refined as Brazilian Fire Song and The Sun drag so much. I wish the whole EP could be as electric as Frantic and Unscrew, but I do recognize the potential from Fire Man.
FAVORITE TRACK: Chop
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None!!
No one talks about this album enough and that makes me upset. Vundabar is an indie rock trio from Boston. Their music combines a lot of power pop, surf and even math rock to create jazzy, fun songs. Gawk is their best work in my mind.
The summer sounding vibe of this album is great. Chop is a great sound summer song, along with Ash in the Sun that has a groovy guitar to go with it. The vocals on this are weird, making songs like Oulala and ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: People On TV
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None
Show Me The Body is a dope band. They're so dope that I found out about them from a girl I met in a mental hospital. Of course this EP is dope. It's fast and angry and loud. Not a bad thing about it.
FAVORITE TRACK: Hell
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Power Word Kill
So Smidley is the side project of Foxing lead singer Conor Murphy. When I found this album back during its release of 2017, you could've told me God himself had created this album and I would've believed you. I thought Foxing and Fleet Foxes were the same band at this point in my life and I do not have a single clue how I found this record. But in 2017, I was convinced this was the pinnacle of music.
Smidley is an emotional indie ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: It's Love
This is just a really run-of-the-mill power rock record. There's really nothing special about it. The vocals are ok and so is the guitar but nothing worth coming back to.
FAVORITE TRACK: The Other Black Dog
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: I Don't See Colour
Wow.
I love this record. I mean, I'm blown away by it. There's a surprise on every song. Every track is different from the rest. The message of the album is true on every song and each one is a fun track. Smiling With No Teeth combines great vocals with a unique instrumental. Although Genesis Owusu wears his inspirations on his sleeve, this album is a fun and adventurous soulful album.
The lyrics on this are great. ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Bussdown
I loved Jorja Smith's debut album. She has an amazing voice and Lost & Found has an incredible amount of soul and emotion to make it a standout R&B project. I've been anxiously anticipating a second release from Smith so this quite-lengthy EP was very exciting.
Smith sounds amazing on this. Her vocals are wonderful and consistent throughout the project. The backing instrumentals really aren't anything special but it's not that ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Forever & Always (Taylor's Version)
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: You're Not Sorry (Taylor's Version)
The four original songs from Fearless are some of my favorites from the original Fearless so I have no complaints about it. I don't think this chapter is that great. I'm not sure if we're getting more (we probably will) but this isn't my favorite combination of songs. I think Mr. Perfectly Fine and You're Not Sorry are strange choices for this chapter.
FAVORITE TRACK: betty
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: marjorie
Having betty followed by dorothea is absolutely an overkill honestly. Cohesively, this isn't the best but god almost every song on it is perfect.
FAVORITE TRACK: invisible string
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: mirrorball
I swear mirrorball is my enemy song. I hate it and it always appears. I can't escape it. This is probably my least favorite part because both mirrorball and evermore are on it and they are my least two favorite tracks from the two-album run Swift had. I love long story short, invisible string and willow. Those three tracks go great together.
