Internet Breath is an electronic emo album!! I like the homage it pays to the internet age by combining these video game noises with the pretty modern noisy rock sound they have.
There’s a lot of hits and misses on here. But I think it’s worth a listen because the effort is there. The infusion of genres is really interesting, espically when they combine hyperpop vocals with emo guitars on Pretty Boi! The ... read more

So I loved Billy Cobb’s last record. I know S.S. Krill was not going to sound anything like it because this album is a rock opera about gay pirates, but I was looking forward to it because Cobb has proved to be extremely talented.
Although this isn’t music I would necessarily listen to again, the concept of The S.S. Krill is so interesting. And probably the best (and only) sea shanty album ... read more

I liked Iceage before this. I wasn’t too familiar with their work, but I really liked everything I heard. Seek Shelter is a complete turn in sound for the band. It’s very standard rock music with a taste of southern and blues mixed in and it just seems like a strange choice for the band.
Seek Shelter is well produced and interesting for the most part. The vocals aren’t great as they do sound like typical ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: How to Be Kind
I really like this record!! It’s very inspired by early Alex G, but Fish Hunt has a very wonderful voice for these descriptive songs about love and life. It’s a pretty basic album as it is just someone with a guitar for the most part. But Staying Small has so much charm in its lyrics and vocals that makes you keep listening.
FAVORITE TRACK: The Keep
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Mausoleum Of My Former Self
I'm gonna be so real with all of you, I hate music like this. I really hate psychedelic pop and music that has vocals like this. But Seeking New Gods is different. The Beach Boys like harmonies helps elevate a lot of these tracks, since the instrumentals are pretty plain for the most part. For the most part does exclude the awesome jazz elements on tracks like The Keep and Everlasting Joy. Seeking New Gods is not ... read more

NEW JERSEY REPRESENTTTT.
Audrey Nuna is a very braggadocios hype rapper. a liquid breakfast is probably the best rap brag project I heard this year, as its a genre I normally can't stand. But Audrey Nuna stands out because her music is fun. Comic Sans, damn Right and Typical are catchy tracks with these hard beats that work with Nuna's laidback style. Cool Kids really embodies this cold and cool style that Nuna presents with her ... read more

Mach-Hommy is an artist I've been meaning to check out for awhile, so seeing how well Pray for Haiti is doing, I was more than excited to check it out.
I love how offbeat this record is. The instrumentals and production are incredible and it works with Mach-Hommy's flow of not really sticking to the beat. There;'s some great instrumentals on The 26th Letter, Blockchain and No Blood No Sweat. The features on this are great, especially ... read more

Harmony House feels like a sequel to Fuzzybrain. Dayglow's music has stayed pretty stagnate with production and sound. The vocals for this are fine. Crying on the Dancefloor and Medicine both sound like 1975 songs, though. There's a big 80s prom/90s sitcom sound to a lot of these songs that give them an interesting aesthetic. Moving Out and Into Blue are the biggest examples of that. These songs all sound pretty similar but they all ... read more

bedroom pop.....
Part of me wants to call this album out on being so basic, but I know I would've been obsessed with this when it came out. It truly is the blueprint for bedroom pop and that weird art hoe phase everyone went through in 2018 and 2019. It's not the most engaging piece of music ever created, but its influence has been so noticeable since its release.

Legend has it if you don't stream this album, Lord Huron will show up in your room at 3 AM with the cast of 13 Reasons Why and play The Night We Met on loop for the rest of eternity.

I became aware of Qveen Herby with the release of her EP 6. This girl is constantly grinding out music so she never really left my radar, however I never really understood the appeal. She just makes very generic brag rap in my opinion. But with the release of an album, I was hopeful for maybe a stranger, more fun sound to support her style.
The production on this is fine and so is her flow. It's nothing new for the rapper but it ... read more

Weeknites is an indie pop band from Seattle. Sometimes, I like to guess on who I think is gonna blow up soon and I would put money on this band. Fate Is A Big Tiger is a very accessible, beachy-sound album that's super relaxed relaxed. And, what's more, it's actually really good.
This album can best be described as beach music. Really summertime-sounding vocals, the instrumentals are nice. They're nothing standout per say ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: We're An Unstoppable Force
Razzle Frazzle is a 5th wave emo album. Right off the bat, I was very reminded of Weatherday and Lola's Pocket PC. Although the influences of the album are pretty apparent, I think this is a promising debut in the glitchy emo sound.
BIGMOUTHFROGSLIDE is a really pretty and unique sounding song. The first half of this is much more glitchy, with tracks like wishes are scams, BLUEBERRY POMEGRANATE and Reality ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: See You In The Future
Is this the worst album ever? No. Does it deserve a 77 as of writing this review? Also no.
It's a pop rock album. It's not awful, for the most part. The production is good and the vocals are nice. They had so much more to lose and I feel it's okay for what they make. Really, my standards for a Waterparks record was not high at all and this is kinda exactly what I would expect ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Eve (Household Name)
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Theme Song
I've heard better emo music this year, but this Arm's Length EP is very fun. It's electric and loud and the change in tone on Eve is great. It does have a richer, older sound to it that works in the band's favor as they are more screamo in the vocals. The vocals on Garamound is really good and the guitar riff is insane. This is a well crafted and fun EP.

FIDLAR, Fiddlehead, Radiohead... bitch get new names....
I really love this new Fiddlehead record. It reminds me a lot of early 2010s emo like Basement and Citizen (very fitting that this band is also signed to Run For Cover). The guitars on it are a very traditional emo hard rock that pairs well with emotional and roaring vocals. Tracks like The Years, Million Times, Down University and Joyboy combine a lot of strong guitar ... read more

twenty one pilots will forever have a special place in my heart. I went through a huge twenty one pilots phase in middle but I can still admit their music was kinda ass. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the release of Trench in 2018. It became one of my favorite albums of the year and easily my favorite twenty one pilots album. I was impressed by the release of Shy Away but I really hated Choker. So, for me, I knew Scaled And ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: The Way I Loved You
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Superstar
This chapter is probably the crop of Taylor's most emotionally romantic songs. I really like the song choices for this chapter. The first four tracks together in that order are perfect. The Way I Loved You, Hey Stephen and Today Was A Fairytale are so hopelessly romantic that having the three together just makes sense. All of these songs are catchy and fit great. This is a good division of the album.

CHAI is a band to look out for. Whether you're into electronic, indie, or Japanese music, CHAI is girl band that's been releasing impressive music since their 2019 release of PUNK. WINK is a laid-back
Donuts Mind If I Do is a groovy and relaxing song with such catchy future funk elements. The dance elements on a lot of these tracks like ACTION are great. Nobody Knows We Are Fun and IN PINK have a great, chill instrumental. ... read more
