Listened to this at the gym and I subconsciously started running faster when HEAT came on. This album gets better by the year. The chemistry is so mind bogglingly good that i don’t know how this can ever be replicated. Brockhampton is a one of a kind and this album is a perfect representation.
The first four bangers are still some of the best tracks, but I feel like people dismiss how fantastic the rest of the album is. This album perfectly encapsulates the youth of our generation. ... read more
With all the hype circulating her new album, I completely forgot I haven’t reviewed this ep yet. In terms of the current pop landscape, this ep has already put her in the upper echelon of acclaim compared to her contemporaries. The tracks on here are bright, fun and despicably catchy. Sometimes I find myself humming 10-20-40 without listening to it for weeks.
Each track is great, from the aforementioned 10-20-40, with its ear warming drums, and its head bobbing guitar riffs. ... read more
Swimming is an interesting album. It was boring to many people when it first came out, and likely wouldn’t have been talked about much if he hadn’t passed a month after it’s release. But with Circles on the horizon I decided to give this album a listen last night.
If one word describes Swimming I’d say it is therapeutic. Mac spends the album reflecting on his life up until he his point in his career. His anxiety’s, relationships, and most notably his drug ... read more
After a little more time with New Moon, I do feel like this is a collection of summer fried b sides. Not to say it’s bad by any means, but it lacks the moments that make New Moon a special album. Summer Wars and Sunny Day are boring, which kills the runtime considering it’s like a quarter of the ep. But I still get a big kick from Inside The Cockpit of The EVA and Frostbite, so it’s still a pretty good realese.
How To Leave Town is my favorite ep. I don’t know how to even categorize this album. At this point in his career Will’s songwriting is polished but still keeps the amateur nature that Teen of Denial would dispose of. And these lyrics about love, depression, homesickness, and loneliness are set upon these grand instrumentals that feel like a cosmic road trip through life.
This album is pretty fucking sad, Will never really seems like he’s on top of his life, and his ... read more
Pretty okay, but I’m pretty glad that Saturation III went in a different direction sonically.
Damn, I wasn’t expecting this to drop today. Billy Cobb is easily my favorite artist in the independent scene right now. Last year he released the amazing Strokes of Incarceration, one of my favorite albums of the year. And he has been teasing this album for quite a while.
I enjoyed Halloween II, but the other ones in the trilogy never felt complete for me. Well this album abandons the “campfire song” aesthetic, and delivers one great spooky story. It’s only five ... read more
Oh my god, one of my favorite bands to be ashamed to listen to releases an anti- climate change EP. I’m loving this new direction, honestly if this is better than Time ‘n’ Place I will become obsessed, so I don’t mind if they fuck this one up.
I’ve been listening it all summer so I’ve gotten sick of it, but this is the best Boomer album of the year by far.
Moonlight slaps also this cured my depression so fucking hard I couldn’t finish, it so thank you Jasphen
If someone put auto tune over scratching nails on glass you would have a finished Gunna song.
If Skins was pissing on a grave, this is digging it up and brutally raping it. This guy once had potential but every aspect of his music is going to be broadcasted onto the world. Cured my Depression tho.
