fairly enjoyable cloud rap project. First time listening to either of these artists, and coming out of this I am definitely interested in Kill Bill's future. Rav is near obsolete on the whole project and at times his voice and delivery are annoying. The beats range from vibey to bland. There's a small amount of chemistry between the two, but this being a collab does little more than pad out time. Overall I'm interested, but won't be returning to this project much.
55/100 (Above Average)
I want to make this super clear. While Views may not be as bloated as Scorpion or More Life, Views is by a large margin the worst Drake album. This album is horrible. I hate this album. As someone who would consider themselves a Drake fan (at least pre 2016) I would like to consider myself pretty lenient with this artist's ups and downs. This album will receive no such leniency tho. I've noticed as time goes on the hate for this album has lessened as Scorpion and Drake's future projects will ... read more
My original review of this was lazy and not thought out. Upon revisiting this album numerous times, the melodies and chord progressions really stick. Despite my original review claiming I would need lyrics to enjoy this, I find that to no longer be the case. The warmth and patience this album bestows is so comforting. It is lullaby-like in the most positive way. It feels as if you are being serenaded alone. The dead of winter in a warm, glowing home. This is an album where falling asleep to it ... read more
a handful of enjoyable moments. this plays more like a mood playlist than an album. There's just little ambition to toro y moi's music. It comes off as if the intent was to create background music. The occasional catchy groove, but nothing that really grabs me.
My disappointment is immense. Barely any stand out tracks. Production ranges from boring to bad. Future and his team are just going through the motions on this one. I had relatively high expectations for this due to how much I enjoyed Beastmode2, but no, we got a playlist of filler from the vault. This is why Future's relevance is diminishing.
"1984 Everybody's talking in that newspeak" ...... *EYEROLL
This is the level of woke we're dealing with here
Shocked to admit I enjoyed this despite my expectations. Fairly good vocal performance and the instrumentation is generally catchy and fun. Nothing groundbreaking but certainly great mood music
this is now the 4th highest user rated album of 2015 thanks to you nerds
Far more enjoyable than last year's "Who Told You To Think??!!?!?!?!" It's a shame Milo is done making music.
For what this is I guess it's fine. I wish it didn't sound so aesthetically similar to Flowerboy, outside of lyrics and song titles this is barely related to christmas.
Being real the people dropping 0's on this are equally as disingenuous as the bot accounts giving this 100's
In a weird turn of events, FJM's catchiest and most accessible album is his most intrapersonal. Many emotionally potent points for Josh on here. Oddly enough, despite how accessible this album is as far as FJM projects go, God's Favorite Customer is probably the one I find the least desire to return too. Maybe FJM fills more of a grandiose and self-deprecating role in my head, so him actually getting really vulnerable is an adjustment I will have to learn to love. I think this album is very ... read more
Taylor follows up her 2014 pop opus with a mixed bag. The occasional high point, as well as many tedious ones. Then there's the "the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now..." which is just... UGH. And what producer/writer/label exec thought the Ed Sheeran and Future features should be on the same track?
Undoubtedly one of the best pop albums of the 2010's. There isn't an ounce of filler in the tracklist, every single song slaps.
I would understand, depending on where you live, being exhausted over a lot of these tracks, as about half of 1989 successfully charted for a year or so after it's release. Imo the songs that did chart deserved it. This is just and excellent and concise collection of pop songs.
