I haven't heard the record yet as I'm revisiting the back catalogue to see if this new record is TRULY as bad as everyone claims it is. Instrumentally: It's entirely palatable and even mildly interesting at times.
Lyrically: oh boy.

Although some track really go in and I enjoy the lo-fi nature of the record, a good deal is also your run-of-the-mill tepid indie rock. Chura does have a distinct style all to her own though, it just sounds like it needs to be refined a bit more. Definitely one to continue watching.
Gives me hope that CHVRCHES will get their shit together someday.
Don't look for anything too highbrow, it may be just another synthpop record, but the things are damn fun.

Despite tasteful trap-based production and a talented interpolation of both English and French vocals, Lolo Zouaï is unfortunately unable to fully transcend the clichés of contemporary, moody R&B.
Although not as grandly cohesive as I'd hoped, Omoiyari is a well-crafted set of indie pop tunes that speak to hope in a climate of despair.

Despite a faltering middle section, ZUU sees Denzel starting and finishing his record with trademark heat, bark, and bite. If you are a US citizen, bang this bitch out all summer and start a revolution or smthn on god
