From this and Vampire Weekend coming out in the last two weeks, it's a grand time for quirky white collage students.
I've never really gone out of my way to listen to Mac DeMarcos music, which i've realized now is a slightly annoying last name to type out over and over again. It's not like h'es creating bad music or anything (My Kind of Women is such a banger) it's just not really the type of music I listen to all the time. So when this popped up as a new release, I didn't really notice at ... read more
This album i'd describe as 'wholesome sad rock'.
I was having kind of a weird time when I first listened to this album. I was sad, not for any particular reason. Maybe just the usual spout of tired blues I sometimes get. Nothing to get worked up about. But going into this album, I was in kinda in a negative mindset. Hell, from afar Fleetwood Mac seemed like the perfect band to listen to because of their behind the scenes dramas and somber topics.
But, as soon as I heard the 'bow bow bow ... read more
(This is the second Demo album based off of Empath, but since that record is the only thing I've been listening to for the past 4 weeks...yeah I might as well check this out too.)
Well, even thought it's not as good as Empath, there is still some highly creative and off the wall energy coming from these batch of tracks. There are moments here that rival some of Devin's best work in term of catchy and epic sounding prog-rock. What Devin does sounds niche at the best of times, but there he ... read more
Swans really can do no wrong, huh?
I had no expectations for this album. The last couple of Swans album have felt only the tiniest bit predictable, and having heard that this is one of Swans best albums, I had really no idea to where Swans were going to take this record. Where are they gonna take their airey, folky sound next? Will they continue to refine that sound, or go all out for a album that just punched me in the throat?
And then it punched me in the throat.
I feel as if this album is ... read more
Dream Theater, on this one, pLaY tHeIr GuItArS?!?!
This is one of Dream Theaters heaviest, evil sounding and 'metal' sounding albums to date. Which is a weird sentence to say, since Dream Theater are prominently known to be a progressive metal band, but they've always felt a little softer and less heavy then most of their contemporaries, instead making themselves stand out by being obtusely complex with wild concepts, with this release being no stranger to these complex instrumental passages. ... read more
You know, every-time I read that this album is 'Xiu Xiu's most poppiest album to date', I do a double take. The album with Buzz Saw as the opener is the most accessible? Are you on crack? Is that what you smoke? You smoke crack?
I always have no idea what to expect from a Xiu Xiu album. Will I get a brash, in your face and tormented batch of torture songs, or will I get a subdued, somber and sensitive collection of emotional ballads? Or, and this is most of the time, i'll get a strange ... read more
I was gonna make a Needle Drop 'I Saw Sunn O)))!' joke here, but in all honesty I just don't think that would fit the tone of this album. Because this album...just isn't for me.
This is my first rodeo with Sunn O))), and I was kinda excited to finally hearing something from these guys after hearing that they are one of the best and biggest names in drone metal. And, in all honesty, drone metal is a genre that I really haven't explored that much into. I'm aware of it's cultural impact, but ... read more
Big mood on that front cover.
My biggest fear coming up to this album, and one of the big reasons I put this listen off as long as I did, was that this record was just gonna be 'White Light From The Mouth Of Infinity 2: Electric Sadaloo'. And while I enjoyed WLFTMOI, I think Swans do their best material when they are just going all out experimental and aren't tied down to any type of sound that they have done before. But, even if the sounds here to tred closely slimier to their last record, I ... read more
Some albums slap.
Some albums astound.
This album?
Boogies.
To say I was excited for this album is a understatement and a half. I mean, if they can crank out 5 steller albums in a year, then what's gonna happen when they take a year off? And the end result is dynamic, interesting and fun as ever, with a more quaint soundscape then previous albums. It's bluesy in nature, but much more complex and detailed while also keeping it comprehensive and uniquely original. It's a much more wholesome ... read more
So, the full album is out. After two weeks of digesting the album in sections, we now have Kevin Abstracts whole creative output on display for us to enjoy.
And yeah you already know it's a emotional record with many layers.
THAT SLAPS.
This album is one of the most brutally honest records that Kevin, or anyone from Brockhampton has ever put out. It's an album where nothing is off limits, where Kevin opens his heart up for everyone to see, to watch his life not through rose tinted glasses, ... read more
*insert high pitched KENNY!! here*
This EP slaps SO HARD. This EP is goddamn BANGER CITY. Each track goes so ham, with a endless amount of energy and personality, like every song is punching you in the goddamn face. It's like a funhouse on fire, with Rico holding the gasoline. Ricos unique and in your face delivery and flow complements Kenny Beats hard and destructive production like cheese and crackers, making for some damn creative and unique hardcore trap music. And most of the features on ... read more

I was a part of this project, a fan project made by 3,500 fans, it's pretty cool!
Sorry for making this a review instead of a comment, just making sure people see this since lots of talented people worked on this
Took them long enough to put this album on Spotify. 3 years i've been waiting to listen to this album after the hype it got in 2017! 3 long years!
This is my first venture with Beyonce's records. Yeah, i've heard the singles (then again, who hasn't?), but i've never listened to Beyone's albums because the image of Beyonce has always been stronger for me then the music on display. However, as soon as I play on this thing, I was taken aback by some of the most beautiful production i've heard in ... read more
These dick jokes go deep.
I think that if you use the internet long enough, you'll come across Bo Burnhams work at some point in your life. His brand of dark, biting, neck pulling, smart, self deprecating and fourth wall demolishing musical comedy is something that either you hate with all your rage or love with all your heart. It's weirdly experimental, with it feeling a lot more grand and out there then the usual stand up routine. Hell, the fact that this album is added to the site is a ... read more
his is the most 90s album that came out of 2017.
The most talked about point of this album is that 'It's no masterpiece!!' and that 'It's just fun!'. And that's very valid point to talk about with an album like this, because it is just a fun, in your face, loud and brash punk debut that isn't trying to send a big message or try to change the game. It's just a band of friends trying to deliver a collection of punk tracks with force and kick to them. In a lot of ways, it's kind of a refreshing ... read more
This helped.
For those who don't know (so all of you), I'm an insomniac. Is that too strong of a word? Most people assume and expect a lot when you day that. It just means I cant really sleep sometimes, at lest recently. Its a fairly new issue I've been facing, only for the past 3 years or so. A lot of people, once they hear that, sort of unlegitimalize what I'm going through as either I'm faking it or that I'm not 'really' going through it, but that's a different topic. The main thing is ... read more
King Gizzard are revolutionary.
The more I delve into King Gizzards cataloge, the more I start to realize that they are becoming one of my favorite prog-rock groups of the new millennium. Each album I've either be impressed by something or saw potential in greatness with it. Each album is a testament to the group and their talents, their creativity, and their ambitious way of releasing and constructing music. I mean, for gods sake, releasing 5 albums in one year and all of them being ... read more
The King Gizz binge is almost done boys!
This is probably the most 'Dungeons and Dragons' album i've heard in recent years. It's almost a medieval type album, with the sounds of this record making me feel like i'm scaling a mountain in the rain while i'm carrying a sword to attack a dragon. It's a really grand, epic, complexly unpredictable and intensely unique album that simply refuses to compromise, despite it being on of King Gizzards most accessible works to date. It's a weird uneasy chill ... read more

Huh. This is actually quite decent.
I don't think it's any secret that I didn't have big expectations for this project. It's definitely a novelty record, and not really the most innovative novelty record at that (rap songs based off of Video Games? NEVER DONE BEFORE). And a lot of the positive things about the album are based on a personal bias with following and understanding the people who made it (Game Grumps). However... This is probably Starbombs most cohesive and entertaining album to ... read more
