'BUSINESS IS BUSINESS' is the first bit of music we've received from Young Thug since his incarceration in 2021, it's a record that was heavily curated by Metro Boomin during the process, and.... it's boring. It's far from a bad project but I can't help but feel like you can throw this into the pile of Young Thug albums/projects that no one remembers nor cares about, because there's next to nothing on this album that makes it feel as fun and as personality driven as Thug's previous and best ... read more
Local King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard fanboy loves the new King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard album entitled 'PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation', who woulda guessed?
I've been dying to hear more King Gizz metal adjacent music for a long ass time, kind of a given since 'Infest the Rats Nest' is one of my favourite albums from the band and not only do they deliver on another great album in my ... read more
Archy Marshall's 4th album under the King Krule name 'Space Heavy' doesn't exactly deviate from what we typically expect from him, but at the same time, it still manages do what makes his music so alluring once again, in turn crafting another great project full of immersive, murky psychedelia. It may not be as brilliant as 'The OOZ', but the dark and dreary nature of that album once again carries over into Archy's following projects with 'Space Heavy' remaining in that palatable collection of ... read more
This album is so fucking funny man holy shit.
So, there's been a lot of talk about this new Avenged Sevenfold album 'Life Is But a Dream...', a lot of which has been... interesting, to say the least. There's been a lot of reactions to the album, from fans, neutrals, and critics alike, and a lot of it has combined into a state of utter confusion, and that confusion stems from the fact that the music on this album is quite... jarring? Jarring in the sense that nothing that goes on in this album ... read more
It's no secret that the past year has been difficult for Dave Grohl and his bandmates, not only did the band have to cope with the death of their beloved friend and bandmate Taylor Hawkins, but Grohl's mother Virginia also passed away a few months later. You would think that given all of these events happened in such a short amount of time that the band wouldn't be in a proper headspace to release music for a while, I mean I certainly couldn't imagine they could come out with music so soon ... read more
At this point I think it's a fair observation that billy woods is one of the most consistent rappers still active today, and given the amount of work he's done over the years and how much of it is consistently brilliant, it's also a fair observation that billy is one of the best rappers active today, and there's many reasons why that's the case but projects like 'Maps' fully exemplify this. This isn't the first time billy woods has worked with producer Kenny Seagal, they worked together on ... read more
Eminem and His Consequences Have Been a Disaster for the Human Race
For years now I've proudly never went through the trouble of listening to an NF album, NF being a Christian rapper from Michigan who has become pretty popular over the past few years and has successfully garnered a following for himself with his music, as well as that he's had albums and projects chart very highly which is a commendable feat but you and I know that the charts don't exactly dictate quality. Now even though NF ... read more
Manchester band Maruja's debut EP 'Knocknarea' was a project that I had my eye on ever since I was told about it, this bands sound was right up my alley and when I first started hearing tracks from them I was even more excited to hear what the rest of the EP had to entail. It's a short project at only 22 minutes but it's a 22 minutes that blew me away as 'Knocknarea' is simply a fantastic EP. I won't go on about the current UK Post-Punk conundrum that has become incredibly popular thanks to ... read more
Thank God the deluxe album trend died down because deluxe albums won't get better than this. 'CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST' was in many ways a victory lap and a flex album for Tyler, but after another successful album and another successful tour, Tyler just couldn't help himself and went on another victory lap by releasing a deluxe version of CMIYGL, 'The Estate Sale'. I'm always apprehensive about deluxe albums, especially since they've become fairly cancerous in the streaming era, but given how ... read more
The latest project from Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix’s Liturgy is fantastic to say the least, far and away one of the most unique Avant-Garde Metal records of the year and it's a record that packs so much punch on all fronts while being cohesive and purposeful. Admittedly, I didn't have the greatest introduction to Liturgy's music, as 'Origin of the Alimonies' was the first record of theirs that I checked out and I came away from that record very underwhelmed, but that review I wrote for it ... read more
Pretty great two track EP from Jean Dawson to say the least. If the quality of the two songs on here are indicative of the direction that Jean may be heading in for his next record, then I say there's something to be excited about because both 'youth+' and 'delusional world champion' are nothing but fireworks. Both are in a similar style to one another, very atmospheric, laced with effects on the vocals and the electronic production, both are inspired by Post-Punk and they're both incredibly ... read more
JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown.
A match made in heaven.
A match made for weirdo music nerds.
A match made for scaring the hoes.
It was just meant to be and it slaps.
I've been a big fan of both JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown for a good few years now, they've been some of my favourite rappers since I discovered them and both have made projects that I adore, especially Danny since his magnum opus 'Atrocity Exhibition' is one of my favourite albums of all time. Both of them are absolute ... read more
I mean... let's not kid ourselves, no one is expecting much out of a new Lilliam Pumpernickel album. Maybe a banger or two but that's really it, and while 'Lil Pump 2' isn't his worst record, it's just such a failure of an album in so many ways. It's pretty transparent that Pump was trying to revitalise his career, he's trying to go back to what made him blow up in the first place but a gimmick can only take you so far, and as much as he tries he just sounds so tired and desperate. 'Lil Pump 2' ... read more
Slowthai for me has always come off as the most "punk" rapper you could hear today, and I've said before that he seems like the type that would be best suited to that kind of aesthetic since he brought that attitude to his debut 'Nothing Great About Britain', but that punk shift has finally been made on 'UGLY', and while some of that attitude is present the majority of what I expected has been substituted for some of slowthai's most emotionally crushing and intense writing yet. The ... read more
'Cracker Island' is far from a bad album, but it's such a blatant filler album with the singles being the only real showings of real quality or memorability. Given how much I loved 'Song Machine', this was quite obviously a disappointment for me, I loved most of the singles for the record and I was expecting something good at the very least, but unfortunately outside of those singles it's just a middling Synthpop record that's often bland and uninspired. As well as that the features on some ... read more
'Desire, I Want To Turn Into You' is without a doubt a good album, but I can't help but feel like the singles were really the biggest highlights from the record, as I came away from it fairly underwhelmed. Not underwhelmed to the point where I felt like it was middling or anything, I still enjoyed the album, but underwhelmed in that I was expecting so much more based on the quality of the singles, but the end product just wasn't as great as I hoped. Even then I still enjoyed the material on the ... read more
Kelela's 'Raven' is another album I've been anticipating heavily but am only just getting to, and based off of the incredible singles for the album it's exactly what I was hoping for, pure atmospheric, sultry R&B with undertones from electronic music, and it's great. The record is definitely on the "too long" side of things if I'm being honest, but even then what 'Raven' offers throughout the album is more than enough to make it great and the production alongside her sweet, ... read more

After around six years of studio silence and some Hayley Williams solo projects inbetween, Paramore finally returned with some new material and it came in the form of 'This Is Why', an album that sees Paramore explore a different sound and with some standout material to show for it. While personally I feel like the album can fall flat with a few tracks that are a bit unmemorable, there's ... read more
I regret everything.
Shoutout to @FunkyBlood9696 for reminding me that I had to listen to this dumpster fire of an album on my NOT GOOD's ranked list. Admittedly I kind of forgot to listen to this for a few reasons:
1). I've been busy in my personal life
2). I don't really watch Fantano anymore
3). I somewhat stopped listening to albums that I know I would dislike because hate-listening has become tiring for me and I don't have much incentive to do so anymore (maybe an exception for the ... read more
